I am so sick and tired of patriarchy even being mentioned in gender inequalities found in society. Here is why the hole concept is bullshit, enjoy, and feel free to call me misguided, if that is your impression. Patriarchy is used mainly, and in my experience, as a throwback term used to blanket any and all inequality for women and sometimes men. It's an excuse, and a scapegoat specifically geared towards furthering the feminist movement, and increasingly demonizing men. Sure, It may be true that most seats of political power around the world are held by men. It is also true that most CEOs are men. However, Inequality found in the general public does in no way stem from patriarchy. The leaders of public authority are men, but these men also have very limited and near nonexistant influence on how the majority of people run their lives. I don't know anyone who looks at today's senators and presidents and governors and say "I'm going to style my treatment of people from this person's example." It just blows my mind that modern feminism can find systematic oppression to women at a societal level, from authority figures that have laws in place to specifically bar such things from happening. People are going to treat you like shit because of who you are. Rapists are going to rape, Abusers are going to abusers, And people who hate women don't hate women because of examples set by their leaders, who also discourage behavior such as this. I feel like this shit should be so obvious-sincerely, an anti-feminist. PS. sorry for the ramblings that at times may seem incoherent.
