This is very unprofessional for an airport employee. If it had been a random passenger I would have forgotten about it, but someone who is working at the info booth should not make such comments. I would suggest filing a complaint at http://www.flychicago.com/business/contact/Pages/contactinfo.aspx or complain on their Twitter/Facebook pages.

The proper response would be, "well, if we had to wait for women to design things like planes, airports and control towers, no one would be flying anywhere and we'd have nothing to complain about, I guess."

The reason why is that O'hare Airport is operating at near-full capacity and wasn't designed to do so so often. London Heathrow has the same problem, but to a greater degree.

Really though, looking at a map, why is it designed that way? In all the airports I've been in with detached terminals there was a tunnel or monorail to get there.

So if you're getting a connecting flight do you have to go through security again?

I was at Chicago O'hare airport today and asked a lady at the info booth how to get to terminal 5. She said I'd have to leave security and I said that's dumb. Her response was, and I quote, "that was probably designed by someone of your race". I asked her what she meant and she said "it was probably designed by a negro".

I wonder how much airtime CNN would give the above?
