Men's rights advocate is a description of what people do. If a person advocate for men's rights they are an MRA, if they advocate for women's rights they are a WRA. One person can do both.

There is nothing stopping an MRA from also being a WRA. In fact a lot of MRAs are egalitarians who support women's rights.

This sub is here to discuss men's rights. If the sub also included women's rights then the name would be wrong.

It's perfectly okay for advocacy groups to limit their advocacy to their area of interest.

But 'men rights advocates' aren't pretending to be advocating for everyone, as feminists do. It's a men's interest group. Just like feminists is a women's interest group. But feminists like to say, that they care about men's and women's issues equally, which is just a blatant lie.

Feminists are not critisized for not caring about men's issues.

They are critisized for claiming to fight men's issues when they don't. They even go as far as to accuse others of sexism if they do not call themselves feminist - that is how convinced they are of that. I never saw that around here.

Feminists claim to be fighting for equal rights. They don't fight for equal rights.

Men's rights claim to fight for men's rights which they do.

That is not a criticism of feminism from MRA. We don't expect feminsim to push for mens issues.... in fact its a good idea it doesn't as it is a highly flawed anti science, anti logic movement. If they tried to help men they would seriously fuck it up. Feminism doesnt even do a good job of helping women, and has screwed them over in many ways. Its is broadly pro women, but in reality is actually quite misogynstic (and I dont use that world often as it is over used, here it applies though)

The problem with feminism is that all expressions of it are founded on the assumption that women are hard done by and the push for equality means giving greater privilege for women. When challenged on the assumption, feminists have such a weak case they will usually try to defend the idea by referring to alleged injustices in the past or in far away countries they have never been to and do not understand.

I don't think this sub needs to be active in that, because there are already feminists who do that very well. We don't need to interfere with them.

Feminism purports to be about equality between men and women but only sees benefits in empowering women while dis-empowering men, leaving them with vague non-solutions like "Express your feelings", "Cry more", "You can wear a dress/make-up", etc.

Men's rights are honest in that it's central focus has been, and always will be, men. From the outset. With the primary attention on concrete issues like false rape accusations, male victims of domestic abuse/rape, biased family courts, anti-circumcision (unless it's consensual), to name a few.

Why should there be a push for women's issues when there's already a movement undertaking that task?

We dont exist to resolve female problems. The big, independent, grown up girls can take care of themselves, by themselves. Alone.

I agree. We should be trying to create a world with equality for all genders and focus our efforts where there are injustices while not fighting for what is solely in our own individual self interest. For there to be peace and equality, we need balance. Otherwise both sides will be at war, trying to gain the advantage over the other. That's the wrong approach and will only lead to perpetuated problems.
