/r/mensrights came up on a thread about "controversial subs". This comment seems to be getting a lot of upvotes. What does everyone think? Fair? Unfair?

Unfortunately, it's pretty fair, but also incomplete. We do spend a lot of effort being anti-feminist, sometimes when it's not warranted, but that user seems to think being anti-feminist isn't often justified. If they weren't so small-minded, they'd be open to the idea that feminist policy, lawmakers, and victim advocacy dollars are one of the leading reasons men get "the shit end of the stick" a lot of times.

Completely fair, to be honest.

I consider myself strongly opposed to feminism, but I still must admit, most of what goes on here is a giant circlejerk. I mainly lurk here to get referred to scientific studies and well sourced articles and videos which refer to the same, and to be honest, that's incredibly rare. Most of the time, it's some guy dumping a 3 page rant, and the evidence examined is invariably such an isolated case, or so circumstantial, that it would convince no one who wasn't already on board.

Furthermore, it frankly focuses on being a victim and self pity, which frankly I think is rather destructive, ESPECIALLY if it's accurate.

Simply put, this is a very small community of contributors. There just isn't enough content to fill the front page of a subreddit. And that's fine. But the stuff we get to take up the space we don't use effectively is stuff that at BEST, can help only the author.

Yup, it's a controversial sub. Partially because these issues are by themselves, sadly controversial.

Partially because we have a lot of false flag postings that try to bait us and make us look bad.

Partially because every subreddit has it's immature folks who fly off the handle.

Edit: Reading the comments, they don't have a problem with this subreddit, per se. They have a problem with what they perceive this subreddit to be. Pretty much most of the comments I see there are statements that I agree with.

But I think people dogpile because it's the cool thing to do, or it's not popular to offer support other than in the "Yeah, men have it rough in a lot of areas BUT..."
