I have for the longest time been noticing a weird trend specifically with male feminists and feminists as a whole. Discussions about mens issues are been held more frequently but they are weird. Whenever the subject of mens issues comes up in mainstream media i usually hear something along the lines of "it is because of the patriarchy" which translates to putting men as the problem or "it is because of their toxic masculinity" which translates to putting the problem in men. Now im aware that this is not a new phenomena but what I'm concerned by is how many men are engaging in the sort of self hatred that comes along with the rhetoric and are starting to discredit their fellow men and i have noticed this pattern occur alot creating hatred within ourselves making us more divided than we already are. What this does essentially is that it guilt trips men into becoming "allies" for feminists and internalising much of the things that hurt us we are then told in a sort of passive aggressive way that we have problems but are still the oppressors and the patriarchs and the abusers i found the best way to deal with this is to dismiss it engaging it can and will hurt your psyche.
