Your post was removed due to rule 14, titles must be descriptive.

Titles must describe the content so that:

  • Users know what the link they are clicking on content before they click it

  • Users who are searching for specific material can easily find the post they are looking for

Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

It's a good idea to pause for a few moments before hitting the "Post" button. Check for typos, ambiguous phrasing, redundant words - and of course for unintended meanings!

"Imagine being raped then imprisoned because the authorities say you lied, after refusing to hear evidence to the contrary, then having to relive this each time you apply for a job or training course," she said."

Imagine being falsely accused of rape, then imprisoned because the authorities say you are guilty on nothing more than the word of a women, refusing to hear evidence to the contrary, then having to relive this each time you apply for a job or training course.

Pointing out the double standards here.. Men whom it is revealed were falsely accused often do not have the conviction expunged from their records so why should her daughter get a free pass?

Evidence?

[+]Much_Call_5819 -6 points-5 points-4 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

False allegations make up 2-10% of rape cases and that's the ones we know of, so it's pretty safe to assume that we should give the victim the benefit of the doubt since they are most likely not lying but still investigate the case, also the identity of the accused should be hidden until a conviction because even if the charges are dropped you'll still have your life ruined

[–]mrbillismadeofclay 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

[–]Much_Call_5819 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I meant we shouldnt act like the victim is lying since 92% of time they aren't, I never said we shouldnt investigate

[–]mrbillismadeofclay2 points 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Maybe not you, but others aren't. Besides, if the legal system assumes that women don't lie, then it seems likely that other women are more likely to make false accusations.

[–]clinicalswag -4 points-3 points-2 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

[–]Punder_man 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Really? because it seems that more and more often false accusations are coming to light..

Also, please stop with the "Men are rarely falsely accused" all that does is seek to minimize and marginalize the men who ARE falsely accused.
Have you ever heard the phrase "Trust, but verify"? the idea behind it is that you don't just blindly trust what people tell you. you verify it first.

In this day and age, a man gets accused of rape, his name gets slandered all over the news / internet and even IF it comes to light that he's innocent.. too late, the damage has already been done.

Please stop trying to downplay the seriousness of false accusations.
That being said, Rape is a serious crime and should be taken seriously.. but we should not be lambasting men whom are accused just because a women says he / they raped her..

You wouldn't call someone a thief just because a woman claimed they stole something from here without evidence would you?
So why are we so ready to label any man accused of rape as a rapist before looking at the proof to see if the claim has merit?

[–]clinicalswag 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

you say you take rape seriously but you can’t take a woman seriously.

[–]Punder_man 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Wrong. I do take rape seriously.. but I also take false accusations seriously.
Most of the time when a false accusation DOES happen the woman gets off with little more than a slap on the wrist, mean while, the man she accused has probably spent a significant amount of time in jail and has had his career, relationships and social standing outright destroyed.

Asking for evidence does not mean you don't take it seriously.. its the bare basics of ensuring a fair and just system.
You can believe women, but the idea that a woman would NEVER lie about rape is asinine given the fact that we have examples were women have lied about rape before.

I can be supportive of a women who says she was raped.. but its not wrong of me to expect that she has proof to back up her claims either.

[–]clinicalswag 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

nobody said never, it happens, just barely. it is wrong to ask someone who tells you they’ve been raped for proof (of course unless you’re a lawyer on the case or something) it’s incredibly traumatizing and degrading for someone to have someone say that to you after you finally got the courage to tell them what happened. my argument is that the way female false accusations are talked about as if it’s a huge issue is inherently sexist, why aren’t we talking about things currently going on and hurting people like abortion laws? of course if you’re a victim you can talk about your experience, but the amount of strangers on the internet saying you can never trust a woman because they’ll ruin your life is concerning..

[–]clinicalswag 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

1 in 21 or 4.8% of men have raped someone else, 2/1000 men accused of rape were determined false allegations or .002%

“This will be on her record. It means any time she applies to join an association or for a job she will be thinking back to this and what's happened to her.”

And what about just the stigma of the allegations she brought upon 12 men? Those can last a lifetime even if charges were never brought against the individuals.
She’s one of the few people who have had to face the consequences of false allegations. A win in an appeal for her would be even more of an injustice.

[–]63daddy 19 points20 points21 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s something she should have to think about every time she apply for an association or job. She should be thankful she’s not behind bars for her crime.

[–]63daddy 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (27 children) | Copy Link

That’s crazy.

Her legal team isn’t denying her guilt. They are claiming a correct conviction should be overturned because a conviction will be inconvenient for her.

They are basically arguing the P-pass as a legal defense. It speaks volumes to the gynocentric nature of our society when that this had become a valid defense strategy for women.

[–]ReverseShell1337 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

I literally can't even believe this shit is real, society is doomed.

We need to wear pen cameras, and store the data from them for atleast 3 years.

Why? In modern society, it's not innocent until proven guilty, it's guilty until proven innocent, as men the only way to protect ourselves is to use recording, store it in a digital rot free disk

So many are now using false accusations as weapons, it's no longer a small issue, and nobody gives a fucking shit.

Society has seriously gone downhill.

[–]Living-Reference5329 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I agree, only problem is if you record it’s admissible as without consent.( all they have to do is say they didn’t know) either that or you threatened them to agree on camera. Either way, we are fucked

[–]ReverseShell1337 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

No, like, I have every single interaction recorded, so that it's a infinite story.

Anything and everything will be recorded, so she can't say I threatened her, because she would have to specify a time which will be recorded.

You know what? Why not just not deal with women? They have so much power to ruin anyone's life, in daily interactions interact with those you like.

Stay away from bitchy Karen's, don't get their attention at all, just stay as far fucking away as possible.

Generalisations are bad, but it's the only way to be wary.

Common in false accusers are:

Bitchy attitudes, sluts, "I'll sleep with as many men as I want, I'm empowering women", lack of empathy and understanding, emotional extremes, inability to admit guilt, and people who generally look like Amber Heard.

see if she has many friends, if she doesn't, that is likely a bad sign, see if she's manipulative, oftentimes it's easy to spot.

Look at other people's attitude towards her.

I know it sounds too stereotypical, but just stay away from those people, if they talk to you ignore them completely, it's not worth the risk, it's better to be too cautious than gamble your life away.

Sorry if I sound sexist, but this is seriously a concern where avoiding women is no longer sexist, it's a must because your life could be ruined at any moment thanks to the law not caring about false accusers (rarely get more than a slap on the wrist)

Oh, and I guarantee you it's somehow this situation is going to "disproportionately affect women"

[–]Living-Reference5329 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Lol I was falsely accused and went to prison. I have my appeal 9k out of 17k paid for. Gonna be another 8k though. Hopefully next year sometime

[–]ReverseShell13371 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Bruh....

I can feel the pain behind that "Lol"

Society is fucked up.

Tell you what, don't spend that money quickly, many people waste it and end up having nothing, that's why so many celebrities end up with nothing even as fast as in 5 years.

Take it, invest half into an index fund, maybe wait till market crashes (allegedly, no one can predict tho)

Take other half and start learning to invest with it, put some into a savings account

The best revenge is to be better than the accuser

Anyway what happened before that? What kind of person was she? Why? And what happened to her?

[–]Living-Reference53291 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Basically she’s known in my village as a pathological liar. Accused like 5 different guys. Of course I don’t find this out till after she made the allegation

[–]ReverseShell13371 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

What happened next? You should get those five guys, hire a lawyer, and then sue her together.

Also, what characteristics does she have? What can I, should I look out for? I need to know, I'm genuinely scared

[–]Living-Reference53291 point 4 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Most of them don’t want to get involved as they are married. Lmao I mean everyone’s different her personally was craving attention even said on her police interview reason she posts nude pics on Instagram is because she loves attention 😂

[–]OldEgalitarianMRA 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's like watching your child get raped...that is the closest thing I can think of. Filing for custody made me feel distinctly that I was having to choose my ex-wife who I loved and who was sick with post partum, or my new born son. It was exactly like having to choose my left or my right arm. I chose to keep my right arm, my son, and fight for the future.

The reason I had to choose was that she ran away with our son with no warning, a plan she''d made one month before when she did a trial run.

Being an MRA I was prepared, had done what needed to be done to bond with my son and be able to prove that to a custody evaluator. I did half the diapers, the feedings, holding him. And she was post partum so she rarely held our. son. We had. an older and experienced nanny.

I filed the morning ex=parte after she left and was awarded 100% temporary custody. She was so fooled by radical feminist ideas that she thought she'd get custody saying to the judge through her lawyer, "I can take care of our son with the nanny helping me." She didn't work. The judge did not hesitate to give me custody. I wasn't even there.

One word of advice, children can decide where they want to live at around 14. Don't spend their childhood fighting for custody. My son decided he didn't trust his step father when she moved to be with him. Then. my son moved to his moms. On the upside, I was trying to have my own. relationship with him without having to go through her. When he moved and she tried to alienate me, he fought with her.

Now we have a great relationship. We talk weekly and go on vacations together. i"m still in charge of school.

[–]Abject-Heat-926 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Her legal team isn’t denying her guilt.

What did you get that from? Her legal team is absolutely denying her guilt and are arguing that she was forced to recant her allegation by the police after almost 7 hours of interrogation without a lawyer present. Her legal team also tried to present evidence supporting the allegation at her trial, but were shouted down by the judge.

[–]TheChocolateBarsGuy 4 points5 points6 points 4 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Another biased article from the BBC.

Why is her face and name not public ? Where is the rest of the information? This article has so much missing from what happened.

[–]NonadicWarrior -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Dude its not a clear cut case. She still claims the rape happened. And it is ILLEGAL to name rape victims to the public. This thread is full of people jumping to conclusions.

[–]TheChocolateBarsGuy 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

No it is not illegal to name the alleged victim of any crime including rape when the case is about an adult.

The media jumps on spreading the accused name and face all over the media but seems to always try pettling back with the alleged victim.

It's a shitty media policy done by the gynocetric society based on dumb argument of protecting " victims ". Well they aren't victims unless proven beyond reasonable doubt in court. But for the accused they never think maybe his life will be ruined by putting his face all over the media and what about if he didn't actually do it.

[–]NonadicWarrior -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It would be stupid af to name someone before anything conclusive has taken place. By your logic, say someone does get name for "alleged" crime. Once it comes out that she IS a victim, what then? The name is already out. You can't take it back. This should go for both genders.

In this case the circumstances of her allegation retraction is dubious and thus the case is being taken to the European Court. Plus Cyprus has history of malpractice with regards to not allowing people to have their lawyers present.

Also "People who allege they are victims of certain sexual offences receive lifelong anonymity. It is a criminal offence to publish the complainant's identity or any information that might lead to the complainant being identified."

https://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/research/key-issues-parliament-2015/justice/anonymity-for-defendants/

This says otherwise regarding the legality of naming victims. Until the courts have made their ruling, I think defendants should also remain anonymous.

[–]TheChocolateBarsGuy 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It is already legal to name the alleged criminal in the media.

Media shares it all the time ! I am taking the position that if it legal to name the alleged criminal it should be the same for alleged victim. Yet the media has bs " ethics " about not naming alleged victim of a sexual crime while routinly naming alleged sexual criminals.

[–]NonadicWarrior 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes I agree. I said in the last part of my comment. With this case the article does not name the alleged israeli men so where is the issue?

Doesn't sound like she lied. Sounds like the system took advantage of her. Held for 7 hours with no lawyer until she retracted her accusation, then got charged for the false filing, and the judge refused to hear evidence proving an actual rape took place.

It's a little bit more of a taste of their own medicine when the legal system refuses to believe you.

[–]reddituniqueuser19 5 points6 points7 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

According to this article, she does say that it happened. She said she was forced to retract the statement when she was interviewed by police without a lawyer present. And that a case ruled against Cyprus by European Law exists where they have extracted confessions/retractions without a lawyer present. It’s hard to find her identity and I haven’t but it has apparently been compromised and apparently, there sadly is even a video. They also say the judge was not hearing the evidence FOR the rape. Why?? I don’t know for sure what happened yet. But I do think it’s wrong that everyone’s jumping on any bandwagon when they’re saying the evidence hasn’t been properly investigated/judged/brought forth and the case is ongoing. I do abhor false accusations. People like that are sick. But it sounds here like there could be a case. Especially without proper representation and a judge who won’t hear the evidence. I have to research this more though.

Also she is 19 yo in a foreign country, alone in a room with police officers. It seems like people are jumping on a hatewagon too soon. Read the article first ffs.

[–]Punder_man 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Oh you mean like how people are so ready to jump on the hatewagon the moment a women comes forward and accuses a man of rape?
You know.. before there's been an actual trial or any evidence brought forward?

Sucks doesn't it?

[–]NonadicWarrior 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Idk what you are insinuating but this issue shouldnt be gender specific. Same goes for men too. It sucks and in my opinion until a verdict is reached, defendants and victims shouldnt be named.

But fighting for that doesnt excuse men from doing the same thing to women. We should all be assumed innocent until proven guilty.

It's a shame she's anonymous. Any guy she gets involved with in the future deserves to know that:

  1. She's been in a gang bang.

Now, some may say that the past is the past and none of my or any other guy's business. And to those people I'll say, by all means, date her then. But so far, people are still allowed to date our reject others based on one's personal preference, moral code, religion etc. And I do think that having been gangbanged by 12 guys is a significant piece of information, and that purposely silent about it is lying by omission.

  1. She's a liar.

Who knows who will be the target of her next lie to the police. You? I know that if I knew about this whole thing, I wouldn't risk being near her.

[–]NonadicWarrior -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Did you read the article?

[–]Abject-Heat-926 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The commenters in this thread should consider how they would react to a story about a man who after reporting being gang-raped by women were arrested and interrogated for almost seven hours without access to a lawyer before braking and recanting the allegation, so he can go home but instead being tried and convicted by a judge that shouted at his lawyers and refused to allow any evidence that he actually was raped by these women to be presented.

Then you should have the same reaction to this case because a person's gender has no bearing on their worth, culpability, trustworthiness, or anything else.

[–]DarkMindwithReason 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The fact that there are women sticking up for her lol.

It's sad because I want to believe women can actually think for themselves and don't just carry this in-group bias for women almost irrationally no matter what a woman does but I'm losing hope.

Female tribalism.

[–]NonadicWarrior 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Kind of what is happening here. There is no proof the rape did not occur. The article says there is evidence of the crime taking place. She was pressured by the police without a lawyer present. If you were a 19 yo in a foreign country, pressured by number of fully frown men, would you not have done the same? Or even think about retracting your claim? Check your own bias first. If there is undeniable proof she lied, then fuck her, but the article doesnt say that.

[–]pwessie 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Here is a study of rape allegations over a 9 year period in one city. Of the cases that were resolved, 41% were declared false allegations.

"The study [...] led to the conclusion that these false charges were able to serve three major functions for the complainants: providing an alibi, a means of gaining revenge, and a platform for seeking attention/sympathy."

For recent stats not from the 80s, maybe check those links. 41% is an insane number. I personally haven’t found anything in any other studies that support that number. But by all means, let me know! (No sarcasm)

[–]amplifi-dash 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

Hey, she isn't lying. She still claims it took place. And if that's true, then what happened to her is terrible.

[–]maciarc 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

She made a signed confession admitting it was consensual. She lied.

[–]NonadicWarrior 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

In a room with police and without a lawyer. She is 19 in a foreign country. If she was pressured, like the article says, of course she signed whatever bullshit was given to her. This doesn't mean she lies 100%. It even says there is evidence, but the judge refuses to hear it. Idk man seems like people are jumping to conclusions too soon. This is not a clear cut case of a woman making false accusations.

[–]maciarc 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

So you're saying there's a way she said two opposite, contradictory things, but didn't lie.

[–]NonadicWarrior 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes exactly. She was coerced into retracting her claim because the police didnt do their job properly and the same goes for the judge. It is an ongoing case thats being taken to the European Court. Its like blaming someone for lying because they had a gun pointed at their head and were told to lie. This isnt justice.

[–]Koalachan 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

After being held by police without a lawyer.

[–]a_posh_trophy[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

12 people gang raped her? Yeah right.

[–]reddituniqueuser19 -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What does this mean? People have been gang raped by more than that number. It isn’t unheard of

[–]NonadicWarrior 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Dude what? Like check your own biases holy shit.12 is absolutely possible.

[–]a_posh_trophy[S] 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I know that you fucking moron. I'm saying that it wasn't 12 people like she's claiming.

[–]NonadicWarrior -1 points0 points1 point 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You just happened to know that?

[–]Ravenant2 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Even when she signed a confession saying she made it up, people downvote you? Why?

[–]a_posh_trophy[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Simps gonna simp.
