But imagine that men devalue each other (they do have an out-group preference for women over other men), then women would take notice and play along, would they not? Especially if they benefit from it (like pumping free drinks from people by flirting and then walking off after they get the drink).

I know the line this sub takes on this statistic, but men are looking at college pragmatically. They see all these people with bachelors and masters degrees working serving/retail jobs. College isn't the best option for everyone. It never was. Men are ahead of the curve in understanding this. Finding a skilled vocation you really like doing is worth much more than a degree.

As far as young men not going to collage as much these days. I'm genuinely curious to know if anyone has done a study about men deciding that a collage degree isn't as valuable as it once was. And Young men are choosing other paths instead.

My feeble attempt to find such data has proven fruitless. Men are, as a rule, pretty quick to determine whether or not something has a benefit for them or not.
