The unspoken truth in this debate is that men who are tall love the fact that women give them preferential treatment. The angry posts are are no doubt from shorties. I'm 5'10" so I'm not really tall or short, but you can't blame tall dudes for feeling this way, we would all love it if we had something that gave us such a huge advantage.

This makes me thing of something else. When I think of many of the complaints women have about men, a lot of them are valid, but I can't help but wonder if they don't put themselves in such a position by giving so much power to the tall douchebags out there. They put some of these guys on such a pedestal, 70% of women fighting for the top 10% of men. Some of these guys are going to exploit this power and get away with being assholes because women allow it.

Don't fault her a bit for being interested in his height and being happy to find out he is tall. Nothing wrong with having a height preference, although it probably shouldn't be your opening question litmus test for whether or not you're interested in somebody. Since we don't know how she might have responded if he was 5'0" instead, we can't know she would have instantly bailed. She was just pleased that he was tall. Somewhat how I would be pleased if a girl I could potentially be interested in matched the physical characteristics I find attractive.

The double standard a good point, though. She wants to know if he's physically attractive to her? Fine. Don't be so shocked if he wants to know the same.

I am a feminist who cares deeply about gender equality, and I recognize that this post shows a shitty double standards for men too. It's not fair for women to be so judgmental of an unchangeable quality like height in men.

I'm so tired of this shit. "Let's shame somebody for having preferences while saying they're shaming us for having preferences!" This picture gets posted way too much and there's no real reason for it but to make a bunch of idiots feel better about themselves because they think they are better than the woman. It's a shitty picture in the first fucking place. If he had an objection to being asked about his height, he should have said so, not asked her weight. It's not a good retort, this picture is pretty stupid, and I'm sick of this shit.
