I lived for two years in Cree and Inuit communities working for a non-profit, teaching music in the schools. In the Cree community there were only 2 or 3 male teachers between the elementary and high schools. Some of the female teachers would drink in the evenings and joke about how the guys were surely perverts.

The teachers had a certain number of extra-curricular hours that they have to use. The women got together and made a huge leadership program called "Diamond Girls", they plastered posters all over the high school, and all their effort was only for the girls, no boys allowed. This is in an Indigenous community! The boys there are amongst the most at-risk in our entire society. And they're being excluded from incredibly important opportunities for self-development in their teen years, years that they are not going to get back. All this paid for by public funds.

Meanwhile, one of the male teachers who had an all-boys grade 6 class was trying to organize an outing with some of the men from the village to go out on the land and learn traditional skills. Some of the same women running "Diamond Girls" were actively getting in the way and trying to prevent it from happening. I saw this with my own eyes. In Indigenous communities!

It happens all over, huge elaborate after-school mentorship programs that exclude boys. They target the most at-risk schools and leave out half the students. It's awful, it should be against the law.

Look up the guy who got rejected for a teaching position FOR being a white male, despite being the most qualified for the job. I believe this was in Quebec. It’s especially bad in academia and teaching positions. They call it positive discrimination, while also claiming to be anti discrimination. Sure makes a lot of sense.

I think compared to the U.S., Canada does an even better job at at making discrimination against men to sound equal, so it doesn’t jump out as much. Many biased U.S. laws show the bias right in the name such as women owned business advantages, affirmative action for women, violence against women act, etc. Canada in contrast calls biased pay legislation something like pay equity, so you really have to dig more to find the bias.

We should encourage men only things. If women can do their women only things, then it is the right time and no time to waste and create men only things. Men also need support. I have seen that in right wing governments, men are less discriminated against. People of Canada, either try to make Trudeau resign from office or wait till elections in your country and then elect someone who will support men.

It's because it's so ingrained into society that it doesn't have to be said. Literally every single day I keep seeing literal propaganda posters plastered around bus stations. One day it's the feminists, next day it's the communists, the day after it's "feminism from a socialist perspective" (whatever the hell that is supposed to mean).

Canada has enacted systemic discrimination against men in hiring and promotion. For jobs with the federal government and for companies regulated by the federal government, this discrimination is enacted by 'Employment Equity'/anti-male hiring and promotion quotas. Many provincial governments, such as BC, have policies that are even more misandrist.

Family law in Canada was designed to demonize men as much as possible. Fathers have few rights in practice but lots of obligations. Men can be sued for child support simply for dating a single mother in Ontario. Prostitution is legal in Canada, but men can still be imprisoned for using this service.
