I have a semi-decent following on Tiktok where I discuss mainly feminist issues/the political climate.

I do not agree with a lot of what you guys post on here (you may sometimes see me being challenging in the comments of some of these posts) however I DO want to be more inclusive with my content because I do believe there are gendered issues that directly affect men.

What are the biggest topics that you would want to see promoted, discussed, taught to a feminist audience. Either on a big legal scale or issues that you feel affect you on a daily basis that’s unique to men?

EDIT: It’s evident y’all don’t want the platform for feminists to learn, since you CONTINUE to say the weirdest stuff here and being a bell end despite people trying to learn. It’s clear you don’t actually care about mens rights, so instead of making a series videos trying to support, i’ll be taking these rude comments and I will be tearing them apart for us all to laugh at.

(The ones who were actually respectful and have genuine concern I will be covering)

I 100% agree with the earlier comment about education.

I would also add that men face vilification every day, and this especially plays out in areas of domestic violence. Evidence has long shown that women are at leas as violent toward intimate partners as men are, but the general public still equates domestic violence with wife beating. The result is that there are very few resource available for male victims and their children. When MRAs bring this up a lot of people seem to get defensive and respond as if we are saying that men are "the true" victims of domestic violence or that we should stop helping women who are victims, but that isn't the case at all. We just want male victims and female abusers to also be recognized.

One more thing that doesn't directly impact all men in their daily lives, but does contribute to the vilification of men. A lot of the true history about things like women's suffrage has been erased from public memory. Most people today don't know for example:

Men were slightly more likely than women to support women's suffrage
When polled, most women didn't care about suffrage, but among those who did more women opposed female suffrage than supported it until only right before it was passed
More women were active in anti-suffrage organizations than in pro-suffrage organizations until only right before it was passed
These anti-women's suffrage women were not traditionalist conservatives, they were progressive women active in other areas of women's rights who were afraid that getting the vote would reduce women's status

The general consensus among the public is that men just didn't think of women as people and so they oppressed them and refused the vote, forcing women to fight tirelessly just to be treated fairly. These accusations against men of the past are rather unfair, and worse they are still used to bludgeon today's men into guilty submission. Don't underestimate how much good can be done by setting the record straight.

I honestly don't care either way, but the general consensus among women today is that they want the vote and I don't have any problem with that, except that I don't think it's truly an equal arrangement if women can vote like men but aren't subject to conscription the way men are.

The interesting thing about page 30 is that it explains why non traditionalist conservative women opposed female suffrage. They were very concerned that getting the vote and political equality would result in them losing the special rights they enjoyed, and they were very likely correct. Look at the list of special rights they enjoyed back then that women no longer have. The only one still in place is exemption from the draft, and that's only hanging on by a thread.

I fail to see what's disturbing about a list of special rights enjoyed by women but not men.

But also the rights that we can work… and own property… and file for a divorce… we can still do everything on our list.

Well this is actually an interesting point. Yes, women in 1915 could go to college, and in fact around that time women attended college at almost the same rate as men, though for both men and women it was a small rate (around 5-7%). Interestingly, after two World Wars we started to see a greater disparity between men and women in college attendance, and this disparity lasted until the 1980s. Second wave feminists attributed this disparity to sexist discrimination, which is correct, but not in the way they meant. The gap was caused because of the G.I. Bill, which granted veterans the opportunity to receive funds that could be used for education. The last draft was during the Vietnam War which ended in 1975. The gap between men and women in college closed in the early 80s. We only drafted men into war, and in a weak attempt to make up for the horrors those young men went through (the ones who survived anyway), we tried to give them a reward, only for feminists to ignore the reason for men's increased education and to just attribute it to male privilege.

As was women raping their husbands. In fact, in the UK today wives can still rape their husband but it won't legally be considered rape because according to UK laws, rape can only be committed by a man.

I think a big one for me is the issue of males in education in the U.S. There are many issues tied to that. Here’s a big one:

In the U.S., feminists won legislation known as WEEA which encouraged schools to focus on girls (to the detriment of boys). It worked. Boys have steadily gone down hill since that was implemented. People act as if it’s some great mystery as to why boys and young men are doing worse, but it’s no great mystery. We passed legislation with this goal in mind and have implemented other anti-male educational practices since. Books have been written about this, yet the general population is still in the dark. Most articles published in the popular press that discuss the problem are unwilling to mention these obvious causes. If we are unwilling to acknowledge the cause, it’s unlikely we will ever improve the issue.

I think if more parents understood the nature of this educational bias, they would pressure productive change. “The War Against Boys” by Christina Hoff-Sommers is probably the best book I’ve read on the subject.

I don’t have kids, but I think dragging children into gender politics is especially concerning. I think moms, even many feminist moms don’t want to see their sons disadvantaged in education, but maybe I’m wrong about that.

P.S. I encourage you to read the book. Don’t just say some guy in a men’s forum cares about this. Become knowledgeable and speak from your own knowledge and sense of fairness.
