I think at least part of white knighting is the male equivalent of the princess syndrome. Most kids grow up watching Disney movies and cartoons where a noble man swoops in and gives the virtuous woman everything she ever wanted. They of course have to work together to fight off the evil witch or wizard or whatever, which is why so many people try to save relationships that are clearly doomed. At the very least this seems to me to be a contributing factor.

If buddy of mine got into a fight I first would always see if he can handle it himself before starting to help. If it was a girlfriend, I wouldn't.

... Actually the typical white knight does little to nothing when his girl is getting beat up by another girl. It just for a to show how incredibly pathetic "never hit a woman" types are.

The truth is a woman I can sleep with, even though being married with a young child the chances of doing so are minuscule it's still enough to make me more helpful. I mean I support mra on principle, but know very few men I'd trust, there isn't really a brotherhood, just competition.

I think the essence of White Knighting is automatically rushing to aid a wimminz - regardless of whether she is responsible for her current situation because she is a wimminz.

White knighting is when you side with someone because they are female - instead of because someone is weaker or in the right.

I don't get involved in the affairs of strangers, no matter their gender, unless I am confident in my ability to physically handle the assailant. And in these cases, I would do this for whomever is being bullied, assuming it was obviously a one-way instigation.

White knighting is when a male takes some personal oath to defend females, usually from (other) males and the scourges of misosoup and misogyny. A male who does things opposite of the better interests of males in general in attempts to make himself look better in the eyes of females; such as becoming a feminist.

Of course, when I am behaving like a complete hypocrite to get in the girl's pants, or to appear to be a "good man" when in reality I am just an angry misogynist addicted to that bloody hole they have between their legs.
