This sub is more and more popular, especially with new less seasoned user who do prefer instagram like easy indignation to the old fashionned research and are less familiar with this old material and just discover the double standards.

Its okay. They will over time make more elaborated arguments

The only danger is for this sub to be labelled as an expendable meme factory and be quarantined like MGTOW or The_Donald. The quarantine of meme sub might be a reason why we have more meme by the way.

Now this is all good. Starting this subject online will have an impact on the discussion. It is a form of campaigning.

Now, taking action in real world is very hard. Discussing your action may trigger attack from feminist, so withouth local and safe networks, i dont know of many realistic actions that can be implemented.

In real life, we get lot of pushback from men outside. Feminism has huge support from both men and women and mainstream media on their side. I can be even fired from my job if I dare to address the validity of this movement.

Media is ready to defame you if you are sitting at some leadership position and publicly address men's issues. Even in other non-feminists sub, you can't address men's issues.

This is Reddit - essentially a wild west of people from age 10 - 100 hiding behind avatars and writing whatever crap they want, safe in their anonymity. What do you realistically expect? I'd say that compared to other subs we're doing pretty well actually!

As for groups making actual change - I'm a member of Families Need Fathers (in the UK), they're making an actual change. I'm sure there are other groups also if you care to look for them.

Most MRAs fear being called an MRA. They want change but they don't want the scrutiny that comes with it.

MRAs are portrayed as losers and weak by mass media and most MRAs believe in that propaganda.

We're so obsessed with image that we hamper our own activities for fear of being labeled as radicals or extremists.

You can't make an omelet without cracking a few eggs, if you're going to enact real change in the world then there are going to be people who see you as the bad guy. You need to accept the role and ignore the criticism.

These rage posts (I am guily should be moved on to like Feminism stops when, etc pussypass as appropriate and not left here. This should be mens rights, Feminism discussed academically when necessary (which often is isnt)

Dude this is really wrong, MRAs in real life are making changes daily and getting real results.... one major win, which will have a real impact is UN and WHO SDGs, it is vital that men are specifically focused on to achieve them, and WHO is using specific language like this, and frankly shocking language that you would not expect, e.g. gender equality needs to include men and not just women, this isn't the case in the past, their saying thinks like violence against men needs to be a category not just VOW.... this is all really positive., its major breakthrough.... also I was surprised by this but most of WHO doesn't produce sex aggregated data.. now one year they have..... this will show men doing really badly, and it will get addressed. I dont know, but maybe they didnt collect data before as feminist knew it was bad?? Also once the economic impact of mens education etc. because an issue, it will change, and major progress will be made..

Dude there's loads of very successful organisations, authors and so on... I completely y reject its not doing well

As for gynocentrism, I need to make a post about this but it makes me laugh guys thinking this is an eternal biological hardwired problem... guys men literally invented nationalism (specific men) in 1800's in Nordic countries out of thin air and made it a thing... they suggested big grand sporting events and so on.... anything in society can be constructed or deconstructed... the Japanese made kamikaze, many have too... literally anything can be made into a social construct... lol MRAs think we cant get rid of gynocetnrism, biology blah blah

this sub is OK, yes it is too much rage posts and not actually mens rights... also very low participation of actual campaigns etc... but gotta be create cos feminist on here too

Sadly, I believe I might know the answer to this.

I am a unique individual who both supports and does not support feminism, as well as men's rights.

I say this because a large number of women abuse the movement of feminism, in order to 'get back' or 'self promote'.

Historically, the feminism movement was started with the goal of equal rights between genders, most known for the legalization of women's voting. However, both sides make some big mistakes. While the voting issue was solved, this did not mean that women were treated as equals by any means. A large majority of men decided that voting was enough, and were still oppressing women. Thankfully, in the past decades, this bridge has been mostly fixed. However there are some issues that still need to be fixed (that is not the point though).

I am not sure why exactly, but feminism has since attracted more narcissists than true feminists. In reality, the feminist movement is not bad, in fact the very concept it was created on is for the equality for both genders, in other words, to not treat one gender more or less than the other. Personally, this is the ideology that I believe in, however I will not call myself a feminist because of the number of people who do not follow that moral.

Back to the topic though (sorry for getting side tracked).

Put simply, men today are being forced to endure the pent up negativity from women being oppressed. This goes along with the new found sympathy for women and respect for them being equal. Basically, the public is still trying to make up for the past by giving women the 'benefit of the doubt' when in reality, that should not be the case.

Now combine this with the percentage of women who are naturally entitled assholes. These women basically have taken advantage of the current situation in order to get their own way. We currently as a society have yet to find the balance between equality and the differences that make up the two genders. The truth is that we are different, so not everything can be black and white. Our court system is SUPPOSED to allow leniency and clear things when dealing with situations where there is not yes or no answer. However, that is not what our system does. People are focused on all the side details that they forget to also look at the bigger picture.

Therefore, the combination of all these factors creates the perfect loop hole for bad women to take advantage of men.

It hurts because this makes real crime seem less real. Men do not get the justice the constitution promises, and women lose their credibility.

We are stuck in a 'boy who cried wolf' scenario. People get tricked enough times, and when there is danger, no one listens. No one wins.

Resources are always country by country, and in the US often state by state. An exhaustive list of resources is a job to maintain, although I am sure it would be welcome if you did.

Menslib doesn't really have an "exhaustive list" at all.

It's hard to get a grip on facts: there was a good BBC World Service item about Mens' experiences of lockdown in various countries, but all the helpline numbers provided led to womens' charities. Great.

We have agency. We may have to do this for ourselves. SW London (Norbiton) offers a shelter, but again it is non-gendered so can get filled up with women (in my limited experience it is usually men). We could do more things like that, especially if they are egalitarian.

Does anybody have a large space? Does anybody fancy calling it an egalitarian space?

I rarely see MRA groups making actual change rather than just talking about it (am I looking at the right ones?) Regardless, and more specifically to this sub, where did this sub go wrong. I don't know what it used to be like, but to me it feels like right now it's a bit of a forum for compaining about feminism and some men's issues.

And how exactly would you go around and change things up? Its not as if you can set up a male mental health club or something like that, you'll never be able to get any funds for something like that. Just like there won't be many male Domestic violence centers because the powers that be will not finance something that is not helping women.

The reason that this sub is mostly 'just complaining about feminism' is because this place is really the only option that men have to vent about this shit. Feminism is the biggest problem men face in our society, it throws down roadblocks at every turn for boys and men alike. Yet the moment people make a valid observation about how feminism fucks over men they are shamed back into their place. Just try to make a post about men issue's in offmychest, you'll probably get banned for you effort.

If you want to be more 'hands on' about activism, good for you, but be prepared to receive a lot of flak. The empathy gap is, unlike the pay gap, very real. Generally speaking we really do not care about a males faith. Throughout history men have always been expendable, men have been marched to wars, into mines or on hunting parties that could easily cost them their lives. This has not changed much, it is still men that lay down their lives when things get risky. It is hard to convince people to care about male well being when we are conditioned to not care about their lives.
