Men tend to like danger more (adrenaline junkies)
Men are more probable to get into a fight
Men are higher potential of carrying weapons
Men are higher risk takers in jobs (firefighters, police, military, etc)
Men have the predominant strength so can do potential crushing jobs
Real men are leaders, but men that wish they were leaders and aren’t try to take control (by force or killing)
There are more male animal trainers (elephants, tigers, lions, etc.) and are at risk
Men will take the higher paying jobs with higher exposure to danger to take care of their family
Men tend to be protective territorially over their wives and many die protecting them and kids.
Men are viewed as a primary threat in any situation and eliminated 1st where force has to be considered

For the most part society enforces role of providers on men. Sometimes this pressure and lack of opportunities forces men to do undesirable things.

Think of how circumstances can force a woman into prostitution. Men get forced into crime instead.

What are most likely situations in which men gets killed, and why?

So, right off the bat, we are facing the fundamental problem that men are valued so little that a solid half of murders are never solved, so we have no idea what the circumstances were.

Dealing with what we know, only 20% of murders are committed by a stranger to the victim, with "girlfriend" and "wife" being the 2nd and 3rd most common perpetrator, after the collective, "acquaintance," while "boyfriend" or "husband" were significantly lower on the list, with only "sister" coming in lower than "husband" in family relations, and only "neighbor" and "employer/employee" coming in lower than "boyfriend" among "other known" relations. "Father/son" were both in the middle of the pack.

And, of course, the single largest predictor of being the victim of homicide: Being black.

African-Americans are 12.5% of the population, but 55% of murder victims, with a poverty rate matched only by indigenous peoples, and largely confined to dangerous inner cities by various combinations of red-lining, lack of public transportation, and out-and-out discrimination in housing, employment, social services, criminal justice, etc.

Please note that every piece of evidence available speaks to being able to predict THE VICTIM, but half the time, we cannot catch the culprit, who is quite likely to be the wife/girlfriend of a black man... which combined with known female privilege in the criminal justice system, suggests that their numbers are actually much higher, and make up a significant portion of the, "unknown," category.

I could list all sorts of causes that men are pushed into more than women, but it really comes down to these two things:

Men are stronger and more able to do many high risk tasks.

As a society we care more about women’s safety than men’s.

Let me put it this way:

If you get sent to prison for hurting a woman, you either get sent to Protective Custody or to the grave.

Hardened criminals more than willing to kill men will consider you hurting a woman to be beyond the pale, and enough justification to murder you.

Is it any wonder the same hardened criminals tend to murder more men than they would women?

Right there I would ask them if women that are killed or hurt in domestic violence situations are to blame for picking a dangerous partner.

What are most likely cases of how and why are man killed? He just walked from work to home? He went to army? He dealed drugs or did some other kind of criminal? Because it seems that their argument is that men on purpose do some dangerous stuff and get themself killed so it's kinda their fault.

It similar to the same kind of response to women's sexual assault and rape. "what were you wearing? where were you? did you put yourself in that situation? did you lead him on?" The implication is that when men are victims of homicide, they deserve it. Your left leaning friends should be well acquainted with the phrase "victim blaming". If they keep it up after your tell them this, then they are hypocrites.

Killed or die? Killed? Women tend to stay away from men they're not sure are safe so they're less often in the presence of dangerous men. Women are less likely to murder men, even less likely to murder other women. They're generally a safe bet to chill with

Die? Men are more likely to be adrenaline junkies chasing risky highs and dying in the pursuit of them
