While I can see how it might make it safer for women who are out at night, I doubt that that is why those parking spaces were put in place.

But when it comes down to it, it really is just a parking space. It's not gonna make a significant difference in women's safety or women's status in society. If anything its degrading to women. It shows that their government believes women need everything to be easier for them. Its sickening, frankly, that things like this still exist.

It's a bad solution to an actual problem.

Street harassment exists, and if women feel actual danger walking through empty parking lots.... then that's an issue that needs to be solved.

But if your solution is to shelter women, instead of addressing the harassers, then you're just bodging something to keep face.

It sounds to me they reserved all good parking places for them in an extremely busy city.

If there are parking places for all genders cars no problem, if not ,this is privilege.

Although this is a good post, its title does not say enough about its subject. This forces people to click and read before they can decide whether they are interested. It also makes searching impossible.

If everyone did this, the subreddit would become unusable.

So please don't do it in future. Take the time to describe your link, and save the time of hundreds of other people.

When making a title, it's best to assume the reader doesn't know what you're talking about - but don't go overboard with every detail. Then check if there are any words you can cut out without losing any important information.

I'm okay with this. Surely more men here are okay with this? We don't want rigid equality. The natural desire is to protect and look out for women is it not? If this protects them shouldn't this make everyone happy

I have heard that those parking spaces are wider and lead to less accidents, but that might not be because they are too narrow for women, but for men as well.

A friend of mind is from korea and told me girls can’t walk safely alone there. (Without an adult man with them) That is not only because men would rape them, but more because there are no legal actions against the rape.
