Alpha males and Confidence?

Ok not trying to be rude I swear, but why do dudes feel the need to call themselves alphas/bets and all that other stuff? Honestly sounds like the masculine version of horoscopes.

Both; the former has an acquired alpha-ness, the latter has the natural kind. Btw only 5~10% of males are naturally alpha's.

I think it's not necessarily the success but having the traits that lead to success so tall stature, nice face, good physique, big dick ect. Even before they experience success or have sex, just having those traits leads to confidence because of positive praise/feedback and knowing they have the traits that are considered desirable.

Some of it could also be hormone levels too. Like some people are naturally more relaxed and at ease than others.

Both. I don't believe in these concepts at their core but I do believe the phenomenon exists.

The only way someone can always be confident is if they had a good upbringing and was constantly given validation throughout his life. Other man can become alphas if they get to the point where they believe no other man could fuck with them and they're doing a favor to the women they're talking to.

I have been in an "alpha" mindset a couple times before but it's usually at parties or when I was boxing. I grew up with an abusive single mom who constantly under minded my confidence at every turn cause she doesn't like the type of masculinity that shuts that feminine hysteria (for lack of better word) bullshit down. It took me an extremely long time to get in the proper mindset, and the confidence I gained from that quite literally got me beat multiple times by my own mother.

IMO confidence is not something you necessarily have in the abstract, but is based on knowledge about your abilities and particular circumstances. Like if there's a project at work where I understand the inputs, I can be confident in completing it. Or if a woman is showing me indicators of interest, and she's in my 'league,' I can be confident in making a move on her.

Now maybe there is a thing where you can fake until you make it. Like you're acting like a guy who takes women home from bars, women might assume that you are. But that probably only works in the short term.

I don't believe there are alpha males (females) for all situations in general. In one group or environment (example - around cars), a man can be an automatic alpha male, natural leader and it will be beneficial for everyone. And in another environment (example - in hospital), the same man will be silent and let himself be led because he knows nothing about it. Or a dominant director at work and tied up and flogged sub at home.

People who try to dominate and lead at all costs and be the center of attention even though they have no idea what they are doing seem more insecure on the verge of mental disorder to me than alpha. As with any extreme, it is usually healthier to have some adaptability.

As far as self-confidence is concerned, the only real is unconditional. If one's self-esteem is based on shallow things like height, attraction, penis size, knowledges... fine, it works in certain environments. But there are giant weaknesses and and when advantages disappear, he is suddenly without confidence. So it was just a fragile shell. You knock and the confidence is gone.
