Metrosexualism originated in the mid 90 iirc, and the "media" had lots of products focused on men (magazines,tv, etc) way before those times.

Redpill represents a flip in these behaviors and motivations from women to men .

That doesn't even makes sense.

metrosexual means men that are built, who also take care of themselves, e.g. hairstyles and get their brows done, and who also dress well. I don't think its a bad thing, its what most women are attracted to. it doesn't mean gay if that's what youre trying to say

I.e. Low testosterone

Metro was a fair step beyond just taking care of ones' self. There is a reason that it became attached to notions of gay fashion and culture. Remember "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"? Just working out and wearing fitted/tailored clothing doesn't make you Metro. Metro is the guy who gets waxed (brows, body, and bootyhole), goes in for a mani-pedi, and often (not a requirement) wears flashy/flamboyant attire, not to mention spending a fortune on personal beauty/grooming products.

Wanting to look good to improve your chances of finding a high value woman is far from Metro. You've gone beyond stretching the definition by this point. You're basically saying that if you work out, and hope that your work will attract beautiful women, that you're Metro.

I dont think you know what being a metrosexual actually means.

You might be "metrosexual" if:

You just can't walk past a Banana Republic store without making a purchase.
You own 20 pairs of shoes, half a dozen pairs of sunglasses, just as many watches and you carry a man-purse.
You see a stylist instead of a barber, because barbers don't do highlights.
You can make her lamb shanks and risotto for dinner and Eggs Benedict for breakfast... all from scratch.
You only wear Calvin Klein boxer-briefs.
You shave more than just your face. You also exfoliate and moisturize.
You would never, ever own a pickup truck.
You can't imagine a day without hair styling products.
You'd rather drink wine than beer... but you'll find out what estate and vintage first.
Despite being flattered (even proud) that gay guys hit on you, you still find the thought of actually getting intimate with another man truly repulsive.

Red pill only suggests ways to be more attractive if they serve primarily to improve your own life, such as lifting or learning an instrument. Take for instance the dad bod. People mentioned that women weren't actually impressed with it but it wasn't usually the top comment. Top comment tended to be "even if women were attracted to the dad bod, you still shouldn't get it because it's an unhealthy body."

Well, it is borne out of sexual necessity in these men's minds. It makes sense on an evolutionary level too, as in most species it is the male that has the more prominent visual traits designed for sexual selection, not the female. Things changed though when humans set up patriarchical structures that essentially treated women as property. For women to find a quality mate then, they were the ones that needed to cultivate their visual appearance more. Now that society is becoming more equal and the patriarchical structures are eroding, things are reverting more to their natural state, it seems, and men need to do more to improve themselves both physically and mentally if they want a mate.

Redpill at its core is about self-improvement, for your own enjoyment. I guess there is some overlap if you like shaving all your body hair, using excessive skin care products to end up looking like a woman.

Well, if it is, that's great, because men really could use a collective makeover. Seriously, there are so many guys who look just "average", but only because of how they're dressed and styled. Growing a short beard, wearing a nice jacket, and getting a better haircut, then maybe losing 5 lb, and they'd be significantly above average. I firmly believe that almost every man and woman in the world could be average or slightly above if they really tried, barring major disfigurements.

Think Queer Eye for the Straight Guy-- all those men wound up so much hotter afterwards.

if TRP wants to help more men make that change, awesome! Then more people in general will find love. I only wish that providing the same advice to women could be done without being "body shaming" or "misogynistic."
