Evolution suggests that males are best adapted to be protectors and females are best adapted to be nurturers.

That implies a power imbalance; an effective protector needs power: physical, psychological, and political. Those with such power have the means to easily exploit those with less power, and so some will necessarily choose to do so. Like Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, pedophile priests, etc. There are necessarily many more exploiters out there who have not been caught. We don’t know everyone who Jeffrey Epstein knew. We don’t know about the smarterJeffrey Epsteins who won’t ever be caught.

This is a massive problem. The tiny percentage of male psychopaths ruin dating for everyone. A single smart psychopath can seriously damage multitudes of victims over his lifetime.

Solution: those with power (males, in general) should be culturally and perhaps even legally discouraged from ever escalating a romantic relationship in any manner. Males aren’t allowed to seek mates. This is how the dating app Bumble works.

Friendships are allowed of course, but only those with less power (females, in general) can escalate the relationship. So, males cannot initiate hugs, or initiate a kiss, or initiate sex, when it’s the first time. Once a female has explicitly given permission for a given act by initiating it that first time, then that means that the male is allowed to initiate it, going forward, unless the female breaks off the relationship.

With children growing up in such a culture, sexual assaults will decrease. Problem genetics that cause a total lack of empathy will need to be addressed somehow, too.
