Is there a problem in some countries with men finding marriageable women who will not reject them? Is there a role for the government if so?

Maybe we could enslave undesirable men and use the gains to subsidize the attractive people that marry and have children. We could give pensions to women who have 4 or more children or give them a slave to take care of the children while they work, so they can either drop out of the work force or continue to work while having children at a rate above replication levels.

Also, enslaving these men would probably keep crime down, which is inevitable when men are unrestrained. We could microchip them and know immediately if they are off course. We could even give them those pills they give sex offenders so they don't do bad man stuff.

The middle east's and Islamic world's problems are different.

They allow polygamy. That will always create an excess of men who can't settle down.

Any wonder that societies with polygamy are expansionist and violent by nature?

To the extent that women's expectations increase the risk of protests and/or demographic problems, does this become a political problem and what can governments do?

Start more wars. The issue is that men are intrinsically disposable. The birth rate slightly favor males for a reason. The fact is we've lost most of the natural mechanisms hay have existed for thousands of years to filter out the excess men. The current ratio of men to women is just unnatural.

modern warfare is too indiscriminate, modern work standards are too efficient (i.e. not as many work place deaths), and modern medicine is too effective at keeping everyone alive.

I propose eugenics based biological warfare. Some sort of plague that would target men carrying obesity genetic markers, men too far down on the autism spectrum (we still need a few autists for science n stuff), manlets, xxy men, and men who have genes that cause a recessed chin and jawline.

A fairly horrific idea in the modern age, but it is an idea to re-balance the sexes and weedout the undesirable males that would have been taken out as cannon fodder in earlier times. ;)

If you want more women to fuck/marry men and have more kids, you need to make it possible to do so. In Japan, women are expected to drop out of the work force when they have a kid, and a lot of women either don't want to or can't afford to do that, so no kids.

They also have high standards in Japan. You're a failure unless you're an A++ student. So if you have to study all the time, you don't have much time for dating or even thinking about men.

So what could the government do? Well I'm a libertarian so I think the people should solve this cultural issue on their own, but, the government could increase maternity leave and incentive programs to get women back to work. They could increase incentives to get married, like tax breaks. They could teach sex Ed in schools, decreasing the stigma around sex and dating at a young age.

The only way people will ever partner up like in the past is if women are more financially dependent on men. The post industrial economy just isn't built that way, it hinges upon the employment base as is.

Part of the issue in the Arab Spring countries seems to be polygamy and cultures that segregate women and enforce chastity, making it hard for men to even get access to female prostitutes.
