May sound harsh but I think a lot of people have a hard time accepting their place/worth in someone else's life. They wanna believe they're worth more than they truly are and therefore, they believe they deserve more. We see tons of quotes about "knowing your worth" (typically geared towards women) and they always portray this idea that we're all worth a lot and that we are all "good enough."

Thing is, we don't get to decide our worth in someone else's eyes. Just because someone does not think highly of you does not mean something is wrong with them. They just may not see you like you see yourself. This idea that you "deserve" better from someone is kinda narcissistic. That's not for you to decide. If they do not think you're worth a long term relationship or commitment, that's their perspective and they cannot control how they view you. Stop demonizing people for simply not thinking highly of you.
