Women marry responsible men later in life because it makes their life easier. That's not 'attraction'.

28 yr-old women aren't 'attracted' to wealthy old men, but they'll fall over themselves to marry them.

Maintaining a marriage does seem to require that the man adopt an awful lot of beta traits. If he doesn't, the marriage doesnt last. In most functioning marriages, the Dad works like a dog & his needs are way down the list of priorities behind the wife & children - hence the "Happy wife, happy home", mantra. That was certainly how it was with my parents & I see it again now with a few of my close friends being married.

I think it depends on what they are being responsible for any why. If a man wants to take responsibility of a company cause it's his dream to be a business owner, that's alpha. He is goal setting and accomplishing. But a man who is responsible for idk, something lame that was thrust upon him, supplying drinks for someone else's party let's say, thats more beta.

TL;DR: It's alpha if it's a responsibility that he wants.

Beta doesn't automatically equal negative and even TRP will admit that a successful LTR requires a mix of both alpha and beta traits. So yes responsibility and high FTO are beta, but that doesn't make them negative and unattractive by default. Indeed if you are seeking a partner to start a family with, many beta traits will be attractive to you.

From a purelly logical standpoint, with responsibility you are accepting there is something over yourself. Doesn't sound specially alpha when you do so.

And yes, I would say many young (or not so young) women find the irresponsible attitude attractive. So? It made finding someone worth my time a longer task, that's all.

Now I think a lot of women are attracted to men who are more dependant and responsible, but I don't think this is how a lot of alphas act. A lot of men with a carefree and "irresponsible" behavior seem to get a lot of women especially in their 20s

Some women do marry alphas, but a lot of these alphas never really mature or accept responsibility. A lot of these gamblers, alcoholics, abusers, slobs etc. who are married are probably people who were more "alpha" in their youth, which is why they got married in the first place.

This is not supported at all by anything you've said in this post.

I wouldn't say responsibility is inherently beta, I'd say appearing crushed by your responsibilities is perceived as weakness, no matter how many or large those responsibilities may be. The trick is to always have large enough metaphorical shoulders to carry your burdens, and to never let 'em see you sweat.
