What’s the best of Redpill that you still abide by?

Obviously redpill ideologies can be toxic at the extreme. That’s honestly the problem with the internet and even Reddit… it tends to normalize the extremes. Extremism in anything (religion, politics, working out, etc.) can be problematic. But there is some real value in the general red pill lifestyle.

What are the red pill philosophies/values you still cherish and have helped your relationships?

For me it’s:

1) be decisive. Be very clear and blatant in your desires. It’s more honest and genuine. No more people pleasing mr nice guy.

2) don’t be ashamed of being a man and having manly desires. Feminism has done a lot to shame men.

3) don’t get butthurt and whiny. Move on. Be stoic. In some ways “go your own way”

4) do guy stuff with your guy friends. Women like when you have your own life that doesn’t revolve around them entirely.

5) don’t be needy. It’s probably the most unattractive characteristic men can exhibit.

On the flip side there are two things that turned me away from redpill:

1) don’t be a dick. So much of redpill is MGTOW with no compassion or regard for their female companions. Dread game is manipulation in its rawest form. It is social engineering to obtain a goal.

2) my wife fell in love with the beta version of me. Obviously we were both young and I have matured but it was the sweet, kind, compassionate me that won her heart, not some alpha male egotistical narcissist.

Take the best from both pills and live your best authentic life!

False. There are occasional good nuggets of insight, like how on a recent post people were talking about the differences in Swedish and US dating culture, and it came from a translated sex-ed/public-service pamphlet. It's nice to know that sometimes, "Western dating is awful" is sometimes just "Dating in the US is awful."

Even if a given post or commenter is just complaining or bringing up something we've all heard before, it's still interesting to see the sheer diversity of life experiences here.

It's like a buffet: a buffet pizza will not be the best, buffet pasta is not the best, buffet chicken is not the best, etc. but all kinds of food is there. There is almost a unique quality to the community here where even "out there" views are taken in good faith: even if we disagree strongly we still (mostly) think that's what the person actually believes and rush to agree/disagree, instead of just laughing at or ignoring them.

This sub is honestly one of the few places on the entire internet where I see gender issues discussed in a mostly-balanced manner. Almost every other place tilts heavily to one side or the other, one gender or the other. A post with 5 upvotes and 100+ comments is pretty standard here. I've tried taking my views to other subs and been downvoted, locked, removed, and people just refusing to engage.

People here at least talk to each other, even if most of us aren't here because our sex/romance lives are truly happy.

most women on this sub like men who are handsome and rich who mostly tend to be conservative and patriarchal and it's their fantasy of taming them or failed story with them where they got tossed aside in favor on younger and more obedient woman
