If it's a well thought-out political argument or something like that, then a violent reaction would be abhorrent. But this woman referred to that guy as a nigger repeatedly... This is a country where racists didn't used to just call people names -- they would either hang them from trees, beat them 'til near death, or if it wasn't them doing it it was them cheering it on.

So... How ridiculous of you to propose some sort of blanket moral highground when what we're talking about should be a reminder of what hate is capable of when not put in check or retaliated against.

I mean for Christ's sake, is this woman walking down the street getting slapped in the face by strangers? No. Is the man being called a nigger by strangers as he walks down the street? Probably more often than you would think.

Huh... Interesting take. I thought he was asking the bus driver to pull over because he knew he was gonna slap her if he didn't get off that bus right then. Looking at your comment makes me wonder which is the correct assessment. He kept holding his phone until the third "nigger," and he had asked the driver to pull over prior to putting his phone away. He slapped her with the hand he was holding his phone in, so that's the point where I figured that he had made the definite decision to slap the hell out of that woman.

I'm not for someone reacting to any words with violence, but at the same time, I don't fault him for it in this instance. She was warned. She continued talking shit and escalating the situation, and she got what should've been an expected outcome of her continuous racial slurs if she had any reasonable amount of intelligence.
