So I can point and laugh at people like you of course. Also, sometimes the content is amusing when there actual exists a situation where women expect to be treated one way and get their privledge checked instead. Than you go into the comments and you see people that take things way out of context or use it as a platform to spout bullshit like "if a man did this to a woman we would be in jail because they would cry rape!" or some such nonsense. The opinions that are shared here just go way overboard sometimes and I can't believe how some of you invent ways for men to be victims as if the entirety of human history hasn't been heavily skewed towards the privledges of being a man and the oppression of women. Do some problems exist for men based on double and unfair standards? Sure, but they pale in comparison to what women still go through every day and if that's what you find to complain about in your life and society, I'd say you got it pretty easy. It's like the stereotypical feminists that everyone loves to hate except the male version here. You make mountains out of problems that barely warrant a mole hill.

You're right. It pales in comparison. Getting 60% more prison time for the same crime, being more likely to be charged, AND more likely to be convicted, being treated as expendable, violent rapists who are DEFINITELY also pedophiles, having your own suffering seen as a source of amusement for others, being denied the right to back out of parenthood that's not only GIVEN to women, but outright encouraged - these things may seem rough, but every time I worry about them I always remember to check my privilege and recall that women occasionally have to see men on the bus sitting with their knees a foot apart. Some of them even have to play video games and hear teenage boys make lewd comments. It really puts things in perspective for me. I mean, my uncle, who was electrocuted by a power line he was repairing -- he really was the lucky one

You had a chance to actually make a useful statement, you started out good. Than you devolved into a almost comical representation of feminism, showing yourself to be exactly what I described you as. The extreme version of whatever the male equivalent of feminism is. Have you ever had a girlfriend? Do you know the touch of a woman? Because you seriously come off as someone who has a grudge against them for not giving you the attention you feel you deserve.

There are some valid concerns you mentioned but it got lost in the delivery and now I can't take you seriously. This is what I find so funny about this sub. You bring up false equivalences instead of admitting that women and your typical feminist may actually have some valid concerns as well. I'm sure you're being deeply honest, and feminism only addresses major, important issues, because I mean, when the entire mainstream feminist media apparatus is bouncing back and forth between "actually, Islam is the most feminist religion" and "ugh gosh aren't men just the worst?" we can just say they're not REAL feminists. Women are paid 77 cents on the dollar for the same work? Horseshit. Been disproven more times than anyone could count. 94 cents? NOW we're talking. You want to talk about whether women are pressured into specific jobs that pay less? Sure, let's have that conversation - right AFTER you acknowledge that those still aren't the "same work," and right AFTER you acknowledge that men are similarly pressured out of taking low-paying jobs by their increased requirement of being wealthy. Want to complain about a lack of women in executive boardrooms? Alright. I'll take it seriously the moment you complain about a lack of women repairing radio towers, cleaning windows, doing sewage work. Coal mining. You know, the SHITTY jobs that feminists have never heard of. Want to say one in 4 women are raped? Ok, as long as you tell me the definition of rape in the study you're using, and what its author said about women raping men. Yeah, women have their own set of problems; yet when you take the prevailing cultural word on them and refuse to look into the issues yourselves, you accuse every person who actually talks about them truthfully of "downplaying"

So the way this has been explained to me is that sexual assault isn't simply assault on your sexual parts. It is something that is considered threatening or unwanted because of the sexual nature.

So touching someone on the shoulder to get their attention isn't any form of assault but grabbing someone by the ass to do the same could be.

So groping a woman's breasts could be considered sexual assault but punching a women's breasts during a fight would simply be assault. There is no sexual connotation in the fist fight so the location of the blows don't suddenly make it sexual assault.

In the same way kicking a guy in the balls is just assault because it is first and foremost a physical attack. Sexual assault would be more like someone reaching into your pants and grabbing a hold of your fun bits.

Obviously not a lawyer and all that stuff but I think a general rule of thumb is that sexual assault is a charge for when assault wouldn't otherwise apply.
