Respecting your man

The fact that your guy doesn’t wash his hands constantly is actually a good thing. It will be good for your baby’s microbiome to be exposed to the microbes on your husbands hands. Babies of neat freaks can develop things like asthma.

Contrarily, there’s really no danger in touching a baby with dirty hands. Have different hygiene discussions. Certain things are dangerous. For example, if you or your husband has diarrhea, you risk passing something to the baby by not washing your hands. Also, slug slime can be extremely dangerous - so if you’ve come into contact with it you need to thoroughly wash your hands.

I know you think your husband should wash more - but try to realize that your beliefs are not necessarily the right ones all of the time. The two of you change together as you learn to meet each other halfway. The right answers are the logical ones. Our cultures obsession with cleanliness is not logical.
