I'm wondering a bit about gift-giving. My boyfriend initially paid for dinners out etc, but now that we are a stable LTR couple we go 50/50 on things. I enjoy going out of my way to get him a thoughtful gift on many occasions, if I see something he would love etc. My love language is somewhere between physical touch and acts of service/gifts. He is very physical touch and quality time. Thing is, he's never given me a tangible gift. I've definitely expressed I prefer experiences over things, we've gone on a few trips together, etc. but I actually want something tangible, even if it's small or inexpensive, but has thought put into it. This thought just popped into my head when my coworker mentioned he purchased a very expensive bag for his girlfriend, and I thought-wow, don't think my bf would take the time to figure out something I would like and then purchase it for me as a surprise.
