We are often thought to be men sock puppets or accused of internalized misogyny. I'm not sure there really is a double standard.

I would say that the way most of society looks at "old-fashioned women" is very negatively, either we're idiots tricked by men or we're so weak that we need to rely on a man to care for us.

It isn't a double standard. Feminists view classical femininity and "old-fashioned women" as the height of evil, the exemplar of the patriarchy. There is no one more hated by the feminist hive mind that a woman who refuses to toe the party line. To them, a woman's being old-fashioned is merely an example of "internalized misogyny," and a woman who commits such a sin is even more at fault than a man, because she is seen as a traitor to the sisterhood. For all their talk of "choice" and "letting women decide who they are," feminists have one of the most restrictive worldviews of how women should behave.

We get called "self-hating internalised misogynists" and get accused of wanting to give up all agency, advocating rape, being mindless, ambitionless, Stepford drones....etc etc etc I don't think there is a double standard really, if you are at all Red Pill and 'out' about it you will cop shit.

I think the same people that refer to men as misogynists are also the same people that look down on RPW. I've heard the term "doormat" and been told I'm taking the women's movement back to the dark ages. There's also the criticism of having no pride or opinions of my own.

Men and women ARE different so why wouldn't there be different standards?

Unfortunately you men aren't allowed to do it because you have to show women all the respect in the world...because they're women...I believe the argument is "we're still human and we should be treated as such" but the "respect is earned not given" rule doesn't apply to women apparently ;)

I like the different standards, we are different, we work differently and think differently and want different things why we should be held to the same standards is beyond me.

I do think that there is a double standard, but not the one you think. It seems as though it's more accepted for older women to have traditional values.

I do believe that older women are more likely to be called "old fashioned" as a term of endearment. As in "oh, how cute! She has old-school values!"

I'm 25. I've seen women my age be accused of being mindless drones, victims of internalized misogyny, brainwashed, unintelligent, prude, self-righteous, haughty and the like.

I personally feel like there is a special level of hurt there because I have friends (had, not really close anymore) that would ostracize me in that same light if I admitted to being a RPW. (Which is why I keep my mouth shut about these matters irl)

Feminism seems to believe that it's okay to believe whatever it is that you want, as long as it fits into certain parameters.

I only have my personal experience to speak from, but this kind of hostility from other women is really hurtful. They don't respect what I want out of life and they think I'm stupid to believe it.

Misogynists are thought of as assholes in general, not un-intelligent. I'd rather be seen as an asshole than a ditz.

That adds a bit of insult to injury for me.

i don't know about double standards being a thing... men and women are different, so there's just different standards...

anyway, i don't think we exactly get off easy living our lives and bothering no one and interacting amongst each other here. there are entire subreddits with communities three times our size that ridicule us.

i also think the dominate narrative on TBP and amongst groups that target our sub specifically, are just hive minded people who sensationalize what's said here.

basically, to answer your question directly–don't believe the hype.
