Hair accessories?

I'm a 26 year old mum and still wear very girly hair accessories like this. For bows I wear small velvet ones (I have them in wine red, black, and navy blue), and I also have a small pink flower hair accessory too. I'm aware that this isn't to everyone's taste, but it feels 'me', and my husband likes them. It probably helps that I'm generally considered to be quite cute by others (which I like).

For more mature hair accessories; I like wearing simple headbands and delicate hair slides (I have some silver ones with small flowers, and some pretty gold ones, too).

You're not too old for it at all! Depending on the situation I wear bows when going out, kerchiefs when dusting or veils for church. Hair accessories make you look cute and feminine :)

I'm in my mid 20s and sometimes wear bows to tie my hair back. My style is edgier/alternative so this adds a soft touch to my outfits. I get compliments when I do it so if you can incorporate them into your style, then it won't hurt to try! :)

I wear ribbons to tie my hair back and the usual hair clips for a half up half down look or an updo. I think it can tie a look together.

I’m known for wearing a bow nearly daily, & I am a little bit older than you! I have over 50, and it’s become a great little staple of mine. It for adds to my appeal, as it suits my personality! I have never received one poor comment from anyone socially, or even professionally for wearing them.

I think it’s all about the way you wear a bow, and ensure it is appropriate for the occasion of situation. I’m in a high level HR position; recruiting/talent management for a large tech company. Yet most of colleagues are men, and I am seeking more male talent than women.

It’s also about owning it, and making sure that you’re confident in your accessory you choose to add.

One thing I really like to do is use a ring to hold up a high pony or the bottom of a braid. I tie it with a hairtie, then put a size 7 ring over the hairtie. It holds snugly for the thickness of my hair and hairtie.

The kind of ring that is a statement ring on a finger becomes much more subtle as a hair accessory. I have one that looks like a deer, a snake, a running fox, a wraparound feather, a rose gold band with delicate garnets... I try to coordinate the color of the ring to my earrings or necklace (I tend to only wear one or the other in casual settings).

I also have a haircomb with a row of pearls on it, and another with little gold flowers. I like tucking them in at the base of a bun.

I wear flower and seashell hair clips that I make myself. I’m always in summer/beachy/tropical locations so it works ;)

I’m 25 and wear bows and headbands to work all the time! I don’t struggle with being taken seriously at all. People know it’s just my style.

You can get really beautiful silk/turban style headbands from places like Anthropologie, and cheaper knock offs on the high st. I think they look very sophisticated and elegant

Bows and ribbons look out of place on everyone except for school-aged girls. Unless you are on vacation on a tropical island, flowers in your hair will be a little eccentric too. Hair accessories can still be worn!

A simple gold or silver headband can make your hairstyle look very polished, and you might be able to get away with wearing a crystal hair pin in your updo to a formal event.
