Hi all!

I meet with a lot of people face to face for work. Today, I met with a woman who was telling me that she has been married for 60+ years. I always like to hear from them what is working, and what got them to 60+ years, you know? thats an incredible number. Plus, I just got engaged this past weekend so I am on over drive mode of how to make my marriage (and engagement) phenomenal.

Anyway, she told me a few things, that I thought I would pass along to you:

  1. Never fight like a 3 year old. What she meant is, always come to the table rationally, explain your feelings / side of the story, and seek to understand him.

The next one, is what I was most excited to share.

  1. She said never, ever, ever cheat (obviously) but that she believes the man should always be the man of the house. I loved hearing this. She said, above all, she respects him and what he says, goes.

I'm happy to hear that this has brought her to her 60+ year marriage, and I look forward to saying the same one day!
