Hello lovely ladies and any men who have insight about this situation!

I’m in my early twenties, and I’ve been seeing a man a couple years older for a little over a month now. I know that’s not much time, but I really do like him and I want to know exactly how he feels about me! He’s said he would like a relationship, and when we began seeing each other he told me he liked me and we agreed on exclusivity. We spend a lot of time together whenever he isn’t working, but I’m wondering if he really likes having me around or if I’m just a placeholder until he finds something better? He’s very sweet to me, but I’m just not sure how to figure out how he feels without being direct and I feel like that might be unattractive?
