This is not for me (knock on wood), I'm just really curious how people would approach this.

If you already have children, and you end up in a new relationship, is it even possible to make it work?

I feel like you are obliged to your children to put them first and to continue your parenting style and routines in the same way as much as you can. For their peace of mind and well-being. How could one do that and have a functional relationship? I can't imagine any man being content to just completely have no say in things like family traditions and rituals. And I can't imagine any kid feeling loved if you diminish the traditions and rituals even a little bit because of a new man.

Do any of you know/have functional traditional relationships and happy stepfamilies?
