Hi there, I’d love to hear some encouraging stories of women that were confrontational before and changed that for a softer demeanor.
Since a young age I started talking back to my parents, then at my teens I took great pride in being good at debates and having sane, logical arguments.
But now I find that this hinders me. Even over the smallest things my SO does wrong, or even when he did nothing but I’m annoyed, I can’t STFU.
I guess I just can’t stand the chance of people treating me wrong. An example is that he recently called me right after work to ask if I felt like going out. But he did so in a rushed manner, and didn’t give me time to think about my answer, and the just cut the call saying “ok, this is too much, we’re not going”.
Then when he came home I was bitter and didn’t greet him properly, so he asked why and I went on and on as to why that call was wrong. I couldn’t hold it in.
The thing is, even when I refrain and want to process my feelings first, he always notices and comes to me before. Then I usually reply bitchily (that a word? Haha).
Any help would be appreciated!
