I have had a couple of female teachers that I truly looked up to because they were always kind, principled and put-together, with a lot of dignity. We were as close as a teacher/student relationship could allow, but I have grown up and moved on to another city, and no longer have contact with them. I'm close to my mom and my sister, but they are not so traditionally feminine and sometimes I do feel the need to have another mentor - another woman with similar goals and ideals to mine.

Have you been lucky enough to have such a person in your life? Were/are you close to them? What makes you look up to them so much? What knowledge have you gained from them that you believe you would not have learned otherwise?
