Well...yeah. Both those things are fucked. They both come from the same place: the covert cultural enslavement of a population. The first is due to religious archons, the second due to legislative. But they're both fucked.

Was your brother saying he thinks TRP advocates either of those things? Or did he mean maybe the way we look at the world could result in that 'happy medium'?

Repressing women has consequences beyond social and sexual contexts.

Women can't work or drive in muslim conservative countries, this means that their potential work force is halved and they'll never be a serious competitor in the global market (besides shit like oil)

If you're a super duper alpha who don't need no women then there's no excuse for rape, after all you could just get another one like that right?

All things being said, "Women in burqas" has been an exceptional plan at keeping hypergamy in check and ensuring the social family structure was sound. Of course there are side effects of that plan, but that's life. Nothing is free and there is no magic that will give everyone everything they want.
