The actual government proposal is gender-neutral, though naturally there is a bias towards women. Who's surprised?

What would be hilariously ironic is if the law was implemented, and then a woman used it to threaten a man into giving her money. An anti-DV law would be used for the purposes of DV.

I think the goals are good, but the potential legal implications and scope for abuse terrify me.

If you're in the UK, it's a public consultation so you can go along to the government website and privately submit your comments on the proposal.
