It's been a long time since I've written anything here, but I thought I'd share something with you guys that really helped me a lot throughout the years, and will hopefully help at least one of you guys.

Intro

Honesty is a pretty tough titty. Lying is easy and it can make your life a lot more comfortable. It's especially easy when you're just lying to yourself. Be honest with yourself. It sucks, but you'll progress much faster with whatever you are trying to achieve if you're just honest.

Body

To give you a personal anecdote, I was very underweight when I was younger (High school). Luckily, my buddies got me into lifting, and in my first year I had gained 30 pounds. I thought I was hotter than the sun and bigger than the ocean. I kept telling myself I was pretty big. Again, I was really lucky with the friends I had because they were brutally honest. They told me that I had made a ton of progress, but I was still skinny as shit. It was true and it was a great wake up call. I was comparatively "big" to what I was before, but to the random chick on the street, I was just some tall lanky weirdo. I had a number of these little epiphanies throughout my life.

Before, I keep rambling about my own life, I just want you to take a good hard look at yourself and try to be completely honest. Have a friend critique you if you need it. Fuck it. Get a complete stranger or chick at a bar you will never talk to do it for you.

Look in the mirror, and forget about that progress you made in the gym. How would you look to a completely random chick at a bar or where ever? Would SHE think that you were jacked, or would she think you were thin/fat/skinnyfat still.

Look at what you're wearing. Yeah you look a lot better than you did when you were wearing your pjs or college clothes, but how well dressed are you really? Do your clothes look/fit well or do they just look better than before

Repeat this with everything from your hair to your hygiene. This isn't to put an overly high opinion on what others think, or to knock on whatever accomplishments you made, but realize what other people see isn't your accomplishments, but what you look like right now. She doesn't see the former fat guy who is on his way to being a chiseled adonis. She sees a kind of chubby dude.

Conclusion

It feels a little weird writing again, but if it helps any of you guys, then it's worth it. If you have any constructive critiques throw them my way. I'm always up for improving my writing or anything else for that matter.
