Beards are masculinizing features. I suspect they may benefit you if you can grow a decent one.

I've started keeping a short, well-kept beard, its pretty good. I'm only 23, but it makes me look older, and more manly.

I've noticed a marginal increase in women checking me out since I've let it grow, and a definite increase in women BLATANTLY checking me out.

I keep a beard and in my experience most girls either love beards or hate them. My beard has gotten me more than a few numbers, but it has to look good. If you want to grow a beard just to save money on razors or to be lazy, stop right now. A well groomed beard will attract women, but beards are a part of your style just like your clothes and your attitude. It can help with the masculine vibe you are talking about, but only if you already understand how to display it. If you're looking for a shortcut to alpha, give up, there is none.

Keep it trimmed so it doesn't look like shit, use Coconut Oil on it every now and then to keep it soft and non-irritating to any women who happen to get close. Beards are pretty masculine, depending of course on the age group of women you're after. Though, like another person said, it needs to mesh well with the rest of your image.

I'm fucked, I'm 26 and have a straight up baby face. Id love one, but I don't feel its in the cards for me.

Ive noticed a good friend of mine finally grew one. Id been telling him for years to do it, he never did. Once he did, hes gotten laid left and right.

Beards are dope. I might start rogaining my fucking face.

I like keeping a 3-5 days unshaved look. None of the downsides of a beard but not baby's butt look either.

It looks well on some types of faces and on others it looks has the same effect as wearing a fedora. Beard type is also important.

Typically, younger women 18-22 like guys without beards, unless they're in bands, or are celebrities.

Older women are more open to beards.

However, some complain that it scratches their face when you get close to them.

If they like it, it's typically a looks thing.

Additionally, some women prefer it. I had women hit on me who never gave me the time of day when I was clean-shaven.

Depends on what beard you wear.

If you don't have a conscious beard style you'd probably better do without. Same with unconventional hair. If it doesn't fit into your planned style, probably best to do without, it would just look weird.

There's a few studies on this sort of thing, showing women find the facial fuzz attractive as it indicates a bunch of traits such as health, fitness, maturity, dominance, and agression.

I've recently been cultivating a short cut one which follows jawline to chin with moustache to match and annecdotally I can say that it seems to have had a postive effect re day to day interactions.

Yup, I trim regularly and keep it maintained. Like a 5 day old beard and clear the areas where it isn't steady. So far, the feedback was exclusively positive, from males and females. Unfortunately I'm blonde and so you don't really notice it until you are only a short distance away from me.

I say, since only men can grow beards, it's a manly thing to have and to do, plus it just feels good.

Personally, IDGAF about what women think about facial hair. The confidence and introspection I get from shaving with a straight razor far outweighs any advantage a beard may bring. Whether I shave or not, I look like a teenager either way.

Historically, beards signalled that a man is older, higher status, married, respectable, kinda boss.

Even in modern society, beards somehow look better on a 45 years old professor than on a 25 years old guy. It makes the older guy more respectable and established. On younger guys beards often give out a "fedora" vibe, "desperately trying to look more masculine". If you are young, at least try a small, funky beard if you must, not a full face.

As for the large beard, the ideal beard is when it is graying :) If your looks, style, attitude is more youngish and you cannot imagine yourself being Paul Krugman pontificating on policy, then rather not.
