What bothers me about the whole thing is that it was decided that she was unconscious while it was haplening, though she had first made claims to screaming for him to stop. First he just finger ed her, then there was a bottle and pine needles involved. She said she had to read in a newspaper what had happened to her. I don't like to call potential rape victims liars. And I absolutely will NOT do that. But we can't ignore the possibility that some man's life was ruined at the hands of a vindictive woman. To do so wouldn't be justice. The sentence doesn't matter(except that MAYBE it should have been longer...if he's guilty as the jury decided.) The media destroyed this guy. He won't ever be employable. Her contradictions make me wonder if it's believable. Again, I will not assume she is or call her a liar...but it's something to think about. The argument was made that he has rich and influential parents- but the victim, we should keep in mind, was attending Harvard as well. Maybe he's an asshole. A total douche. Or maybe she ruined his life. I don't know.
I'm tired of being called "part of the problem" or sexist, or an asshole for saying so. It's like questioning both sides of the matter is suddenly an unacceptable social offense...why? Thoughts? Evidence I missed out on that proves one side or the other? I'm open to all opinions. Even if the opinion is that I'm some sexist asshole.
