I read here recently that fortune favors motherfuckers that work out in the morning. Some shit like that. It's was catchy. So I moved my workouts from evening to morning.
Holy fuck did I get more done in a day. Even more than my old Adderall days.
Domination begets domination.

Well yeah, that's a great lesson actually.
Habits beget habits, and lifting as a habit sets your internal frame for the day.
Wake up and crush, want to keep crushing yes?

I'm stationed in Germany, so there's typically a bunch of girls riding bicycles here. I watch their asses. Every time, from a dead stop, they wobble and shake until they get enough momentum. They don't have the muscle structure to propel the bike up to speed fast enough.
Getting up to crushing speed is very similar. Just nobody can get past the wobbling; too uncomfortable. Then all the sudden people are amazed at your discipline not really connecting how easy the logistics become AFTER a little discomfort

Shit I can't get my bike up to speed that quickly either. Reminding me of my female ass thanks

I started a routine when I was in the military, second I woke up I popped a quick 50 push-ups, shit was better than red bull
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Ah, I'm doing this now. Love red bull.

I went from taking adderall every day to nothing but coffee and I feel so much better. I care about people more than I ever have and, although I may not be as alert and aware in the moment, I have a better awareness in terms of the direction of my life.
How do you think you've changed since your adderall days?
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Read some of my past posts. I was fucking nuts. I suspect RP reading and lifting healed me. Adderall kept me from drowning. Thriving was never part of that pill. This red one is.

It doesn't matter when you work out, just that you make time in the day to do it. For some people, getting it done in the morning is easy, whereas others can't pump their dick, much less iron, in the morning.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I work out in the morning precisely because it is NOT easy.

Congratulations. Here's a protein cooki

I failed to get up today, Its so hard to wake myself up
[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't put a thought to it. Just stand up before feelings got a chance to be triggered.
[–]Inyobch2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Not a bad idea, I know what you mean. Like you just lay there till you go back to sleep or lazy to move

Turn on your phone and start reading your emails or checking social media. The light will wake you up. Normally you'd shy away from the light, but in this case, you'll be too invested in the latest juicy FB gossip to do that.
I know mindless FB browsing is frowned upon in TRP, but in this case using dirty tricks like these to get the job done is acceptable.

Waking up early and hitting the gym has really benefited me greatly, it just feels better to get it done in the morning.

The feeling of walking alone in the city when it's 5am, jet black night, cold rain in your face, loud music in the ears, and you know you're going to kick yourself in the ass. The feeling of taking the subway with other people who also woke up at 4 something. The feeling of leaving the gym fresh, relaxed, clean and ready for more action. Also; being able to join afterwork gatherings (even briefly because you go to bed at 9-10pm) instead of trying to workout like an autist at peak hour after a stressful day never seeing daylight. I could go on for a while.
AM training is the way to go

This reminds me of boot camp in the Marine Corps. Every morning we were required to make our racks to absolute perfection. 45 degree angles on the corners, 5 inch heads, and no creases at all. Our drill instructors would inspect it everyday and if it was just a little bit off, you had to do it again. I never understood it at first but soon realized that once I got it down, I was doing it without thinking and felt like I could handle any of the mundane task asked of me. That and discipline to be squared away all the time. It's about discipline and handling your shit as well. When I got out, I eventually stopped doing it and didn't get that first initial sense of accomplishment. But I started making my bed again in the morning and it just helps. What you're saying is absolute truth.

Do you count yourself down too?

His example was making his bed in the morning, something small and insignificant, but creates the base of what you will accomplish in a day.
I begin my day by taking a shit :(
[–]doudou215 points6 points7 points 9 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That's something big and significant
[–]Eastuss0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
More like green small pellets lately.
I'm going to invent day predictions by reading morning shit.
[–]LaRedPill3 points4 points5 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Completely agree, yesterday as an example, because of a train strike, I could wake up and slack at morning for an hour or so, skipped gym at noon that day.
Never start a day slacking off.

Many are adding to your topic and suggesting things such as working out in the AM (which is great, mind you), but another alternative can be less strenuous (physically).
For example, I personally work out between 5-7pm daily (time I can meet up with my lifting group and it's habitual), and during one of my daily meet ups I had a similar discussion with an older lifter in my group who is very grounded and powerful. Our discussion ranged from many things, but pertaining to this topic in specific, he told me of a set schedule he has adhered to ever since the day he got out of prison...
Daily he wakes up at 4am, no matter what. The weak sleep in and find excuses to lay in bed. 3 hours of sleep? So what? Go to bed earlier. From 4am to 5am he practices guitar. Anyone who practices music knows (especially in the newbie stage) that it requires stern discipline and focus, whilst also exercising a part of our mind we largely neglect. After this task is complete, he cooks breakfast for his family and tends to his animals, then off to work at 7am. When work is finished, well, then he meets up at the gym to do some heavy lifting and kill his body. Each and every fucking day.
The take away from this is that we need challenge ourselves early on. Getting up at 4am may be overkill, but adding structure to your day and getting a head start is what builds success. Individuals such as my friend have accomplished more in a single morning (for the self) than most accomplish in their entire day. As cliche as it sounds, we do need to live each day as if it is our last. What would you do if you had a year to live? Sleep in all the damn time? Worry about petty bullshit like women? Or would you man the fuck up and invest in being the most perfect version of yourself?

Rest is as important as catabolism. Machismo can make dangerous and counterproductive things sound nice, but unless you're on roids this ain't the way to go. Work smarter, not harder.
[–]hardly_incognito2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I see where you may have me mistaken, but my point was when it comes right down to it, it's better to sacrifice sleep from time-to-time than neglect your priorities.
[–]RawFrawg2 points3 points4 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I third working out in the morning before jobjob. I can tell it does something for test cause these chicky-birds at work are looking pretty good. Too bad I'm too focused on getting shit done, sorry gals!

Another benefit to working out in the morning is the increased blood flow you get throughout the day as a result of pumping your muscles. Increased blood flow means more energy, higher alertness, and overall higher productivity.
A minor note about making your bed in the morning: this is actually not a good thing. The majority of us sweat a bit when we sleep, creating a feast for bacteria. Making your bed immediately covers this bacteria with the blanket, producing a warm and dark environment for bacteria to thrive in.
What you should do is open the windows and let sunlight in for 15 minutes, which will kill the bacteria from the previous night. After that you can make your bed.
[–]Haus667 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Which is why you make your bed military style, the blanket is folded not covering the sheets
[–]FvckYourSafeSpace1 point 9 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
yea, i make my bed every day. if you have kids, make them do it too.
