I encountered this same exact situation 4 years ago when I was 24. This has been a thing. Pre-RP days but was discovering it on my own. I hacked her and studied her behavior. Confirmed. She was only showing her status to me.

My current LTR and I have our relationship status viewable only to each other. Her reasoning "I don't want certain people to know as it causes a lot of drama and problems."

That said, she hid your relationship from her friends and is now with someone else. I echo the others in saying you should move on. No matter how it feels and no matter how shitty it is...all you can do is change you. You can't change her.

Honestly if you ever decide to put your relationship on facebook (why?) you should look at her profile from not logged in, logged in from a fake account, and logged in from a fake account you sneakily friend yourself with.

This sounds paranoid but you can see who she shares her relationship status with publicly, with "friends of friends", and you.

If she hides it publicly whatever, some people are more private than others... I personally hide EVERYTHING from public view... If she hides it from friends of friends... she doesn't consider you her BF "for real" and that takes some actual effort to change so no it wasn't an accident, no her facebook wasn't just "set up like that." She did it 100% on purpose.

Keep your life off FB. Stay off FB. People don't need to know what the latest detail of your life is, they don't care but they will judge you.

Social media is a contest of "my life SEEMS better than yours". I've been to parties with people, and the party was wack af, everyone was bored. But the girls didn't come out for nothing, they glam up for the gram (Instagram). The girls piled up with their drinks in hand, cheek to cheek kissy face, kiss on cheek etc. Snap, snap, snap a few pics go online. Tagline: Had soooo much fun with my girlies. Top 3 or 4 comments are the girls featured on the photo discussing how much they were happy to see each other and how they will meet soon. "You look so beautiful,omgdbz your hair, so gorgeous" etc. Self and mutual validation ensues. A few likes shy of a 100, the betas flood the scene with their comments.

Nowadays, real life to people, happens on social media. Stay off social media and you have an edge.

Lesson learned: Don't LTR.

I know what you're going through. Your story is about 90-95% the same as mine (she was the first for me if I can even call that a relationship), with a year delayed. But that's it. I'm not here to pat you in the back to comfort you and talk about feelz, braid each others' hair, etc. I'm not gonna provide material for your mental masturbation.

Instead of that, here I list the mistakes that I made afterwards:

Looking for revenge. I wasted two MONTHS with that and I didn't even get mine. Was it worth it? Not at all.
Trying to contact her by messaging, etc. Waste of effort and time and I just made and ass out of myself (IF there was any chance of ever fucking her again, that's nothing but gone by now - not that I want it anymore though).
Bitching about her to others. Boo hoo, cry me a river, Nancy - nobody cares.
Trying to show off. Totally pointless and she doesn't care at all.
Thinking about her, fantasizing, etc. See previous point. She didn't/doesn't care about me at all.

Finally I realized our thing was over (before it even started, to think) and I let go. That it was only the scarcity what made me think I want more from her, that she was the one. That there's tons of equally hot or even hotter women everywhere who don't care less about me than she does (absolutely not at all that is). That there are far more important things to me than bitches. What did I win by doing so?

Just my free time back. And it's more than enough for me. Hit the sidebar and start your journey or waste your time just like I did - the choice is yours.
