I recently received an LJBFR, and that was the straw that broke the camel's back. For about 9 months now, I've been educating myself on RP theory, but for the last couple of weeks, I've taken it upon myself to level up my SMV. In particular, status and game. Looks and money wise, I'm doing well (there's always room for improvement of course) but I decided I would like to round out my weaknesses. This has been the first time actually practicing red pill, instead of just consuming the content and trying to understand the theory.

In short, this has looked like:

  • Picking up a second job at my gym, purely to practice social skills and improve my status
  • Creating a social circle and actually getting outside the house
  • Practicing night game once/twice a week with said social circle
  • Using this new social platform as an opportunity to practice and observe concepts such as frame, AMOGs, shit tests, etc.

What I've learned so far:

  1. Pre-Selection is real. Over the last few months, I've gone from a shy employee to a bit of a social butterfly. This week in particular, I've seen a huge jump in recognition and acceptance at the gym. Not only does it suddenly feel like I have "permission" to talk to women in the gym, they actively engage me. I've built up some rapport, and it's resulted in much more engagement with women, but really, people in general.
  2. When it rains, it pours. The bit of social approval I've gotten at my second job has bled into my life outside of the workplace. I handle myself with more confidence, I'm more open to teasing and joking, and more conversations are getting struck up in elevators. I'm not so neurotic all the damn time, my anxiety is lower, and people seem to enjoy my company a lot more as a result. I had a cashier give me a free drink while I waited for my food the other day, that hasn't happened in years. And, after spending years as the quiet guy in the office, I've finally opened up a bit at my main job. I've been received well.
  3. Holding frame is hard. Man, I knew I was a beta but I had no clue how much of a beta I was (and still am). Even writing all of this down, I have this nagging sense that I'm "coloring outside the lines" and overstepping my boundaries socially. Like how I'm behaving is dangerous and might not be the safest way to navigate my social life. (I'm curious, does anyone have any advice on this? Are there any threads/books that might help me understand where this is coming from) Anyways, I digress. I've shaken up the culture quite a bit at the gym, being the new guy on the staff. After being AMOG'd out of the "in-group", I created my own social circle. This social circle is much tighter, more outgoing, and has established more of a presence than the previous in-group. This has come with push back. Shit tests have started to occur, and they have made me question myself more than I'd like to admit. I disarm and move past them as best as I can, but they really get me in my head. I can see the difference between myself a few years ago and now. Before, I would've folded and isolated and stepped into their frame. Now, I hold my frame, but man, it is uncomfortable as fuck. I can't help but second-guess myself.
  4. AMOGing. As I stated earlier, I got AMOG'd out of the in-group. The details aren't too important. What I'd like to touch on is my experience as the AMOG. It's intoxicating. Of course, I don't AMOG my friends, but I have no issues doing it towards the previous in-group. This has resulted in qualifying behavior from them. In all honesty, it feels like it should be illegal. Like I've gained access to a set of tools I was never meant to have. I feel like a dick, but I've been able to justify it by telling myself they were dicks to me first. Nonetheless, it feels good to not get picked on, but it feels bad to be so aware of what I'm doing. It's one thing to hurt someone's feelings on accident, but it's another to do so purposefully and literally just to prove a point. I'm conflicted.
  5. Night game. The night game still needs work. I've only read "The Game" so far, so all of my technique is coming from the very minimal information provided throughout the story. Mystery Method is up next. Really, all I can say is I haven't full closed yet, but I've managed to grab a few numbers/socials so far. Game has been more or less an opportunity to make myself aware of more nuanced details of flirting/escalating. Not too much to report yet, more reps are needed.
  6. Uncertainty. This is the last thing I would like to touch on, as it is the most pressing to me. I don't know if I look like a clown or if I'm actually doing this shit correctly. I guess the easiest way to find out would be to look at my social approval, and my social life looks much MUCH better. I stated earlier, I'm outside the house more, getting invited out and doing more inviting, engaging with more women and men alike. However, there's push back. There's more beef in my life. More shit tests. It feels like the price you have to pay if you'd like to improve your status and hold frame. It quite literally comes with the territory, or you choose to live in the frame of someone else.

In all honesty, I think I sound a little cringy. Like I'm paying far too much attention to things most people would never give a second thought to. I feel like I'm giving off the same vibes as the posts in Neil Struass's "The Game." I'm not too sure.

I know there are phases you go through when taking the red pill, so I'm curious, what's everyone's thoughts on my experience so far. Am I looking at things in an unhealthy way, or is this just the nature of being red pill aware? I'm on the younger side, 23 years old, and haven't really attempted to develop my status in such an aggressive manner before. Am I doing this shit right? I would never make this shit known to anyone outside of the community, so this is really my only source for feedback.
