What is cold reading

Cold reading" is a procedure by which a "reader" is able to persuade a person, whom he has never before met, that he knows all about the person’s personality and problems. It’s done by making sweeping generalizations based off of observations/information you get through interacting with that person. I will be going over it in the context of talking to women but the same be applied in your daily life. For example I also like to use it in my job as a rapport building tool.

Why is it powerful

In my experience and observations girls have a weakness for guys who understand them and guys who “just get it”. Just look at how many women follow horoscopes and feel like it applies to their own lives. These horoscopes just have sweeping general statements in them and the girl will just fill in the blanks based on her imagination and her own personal experiences. When used well cold reading can help in getting the girl to deeply emotionally invest in you in a short amount of time. Think of it as a rapport building on steroids.

Observations

Demographic

Think about what’s important to the demographic your talking to and from your statements accordingly.

Teens/early 20’s

Will probably feel like they are in an exploration part of their life and creating their own beliefs and testing them.

Late 20’s

Will probably be feeling that their time to fuck around is done and now they need to “make something of themselves, or accomplish something” and feel pressure from society/their family to take the steps to do so. Her friends are starting to get married and building a stable future so she may feel pressure to do so too.

Early 30’s

Will probably be questioning earlier choices and are feeling a sense of regret. They wish they had taken a different career path, didn’t trap themselves in a bad marriage, wish they moved somewhere else exc.

Where they live(home-bodies/haven't moved much)

You can make two assumptions based off of this. One is that family and loyalty is probably important to her. The other is that every once and awhile she must get a feeling to go explore somewhere new.

Where they live(move around a lot)

If they tell me they’ve moved around a good amount you can make two assumptions. They are an adventurous type and like to experience new things. They aren’t quite sure what they want to do with their lives and have these interesting ideas of what they can do. Also that they like to travel.

Body language(Girl leaning back and cross armed)

You can make the assumption that she is a more reserved type and likes to people watch. She is also calculating and likes to think before she acts so she can make sure she is making the right decision.

Body language (Open moving around a lot)

High energy person. Likes to have fun, has some crazy friends who she gets into trouble with.

Fashion( Flats > heels/wedges)

Values comfort over style, or is tall and you can tease her for that.

Fashion(Wearing an interesting dress)

Likes to be the center of attention and doesn’t like to be alienated. Has a creative side to her.

Shy tone/body language

She doesn’t like to go out to loud environment very much. Prefers a quiet night drinking a glass of wine with some good conversation.

You get the idea and can already see how this works to some extent as you read over this. In your own head you are probably thinking “yeah that sounds like it would apply here and makes sense” and filling in the gaps with your own imagination and personal experiences. And they are all pretty big generalizations, but they all make sense nonetheless. So cater what you are going to say to who you are talking to and most importantly makes them feel like they are being understood and then invest more into you as a person. You can then take the information you get here to get the girl to open up even more. And you will still keep your sense of mystery about you since the conversation is so focused on her.

Statement Creation

Try and limit your use of questions in your interactions. Make your statements with confident body language and conviction. Even if you get it wrong it’s not a big deal you’ll get more information which can help make another read later on. Format of how I usually make my cold reads:

I get the feeling that…tell me about that
You give me X vibe…tell me about that
I bet that…tell me about that…
I am getting X energy from you...tell me why that is..
You must be x kind of person…tell me about that. You seem like the type of person that...tell me about that
exc.

Notice you're never asking questions and also showing a subtle dominance by telling her to do something.

Mirroring

I find mirroring to be a good tool to get people to give you more information about themselves to make warm reads down the line. Mirroring is literally just saying the main points of whatever was just said back to the person. They will almost always give you more information.

Example of how this works:
Her: It’s been a good day
You: a good day….
Her: Yeah I’ve done x, y, and z

Her: I don’t go out ot the bars often
You: You don’t go out often…
Her: Yeah work has been killing me lately my manager is a prick so I can’t get out much.
You: Your manager is a prick….
Her: Yeah he did x,y, and z

This works well because you are getting more information but also get the person you are talking to to feel like you are actually listening to them and understanding them. It’s a very basic, but also powerful concept.

Conclusion

Note you don’t have to cold read to be successful with women. But being aware of when/how you can use something like cold reading should be helpful. Try and be thinking while you’re out at the bar or talking to the cute girl in line at the grocery store how you can apply something like this to get her to invest more into the interaction as well as develop a strong emotional connection with you.
