Disclaimer; I am in no way against body building, I have spent years doing it myself and have taken a massive amount of enjoyment from it. I have also played a wide range of sports and competed at a decent level at more than one. Recently completed first triathlon, still spend a lot of time as a gym rat.
One of the key ingredients on the path to improving game, and becoming more Red Pill is lifting. I have seen the term “lifting” used in many of the comments section as a valid activity to help you become more masculine, I’m totally with you, just remember your legs! Lifting will provide you with things such as; strength, a good physique and confidence. What I believe people are often confusing, is strength for fitness. If you only lift, you are not fit. If that’s what you’re in to great, go for it. Understand though that you are strong, not fit.
What I believe is that lifting weights alone for men is similar to women as breast implants, dying your hair blonde and getting a sexy pair of heels. You look great, you get attention, and you feel validated. But apart from improved strength and maybe confidence you haven’t really learned or improved at anything. My concern is that, just as when you see a slutty blonde with big tits that you want to bang, you probably know on some level she’s not wife material. Do women look at guys in a similar way if they are all muscles?
The polar alternative I believe is to do a sport that requires intense cardio, i.e running, cycling etc. Your body doesn’t look half as great; it takes a different kind of effort, is a lot weaker BUT is a lot fitter. Blood pressure and heart condition is improved, but you can’t attract women by saying, “hey babe look at my resting heart rate, I’m such a great catch”.
To expand the point further, if we take lifting to be an almost purely cosmetic enhancement, in my mind it kind of goes with canned openers and routines, heavy negging etc. Whereas playing a sport or partaking in some kind of competition implies you have some kind of talent, in my mind this goes with natural game or improving your inner game. You also now have a valid conversation topic to talk about. As anyone who’s lifted will tell you, trying to tell a girl how many shakes a day you have is not that interesting. Conversely, talking about the preparation you did for a race or the event your team competed in, can actually be a great conversation, and attractive to a woman, as you will no doubt show some level of passion for said activity.
Isn’t it the case therefore, that whilst lifting to improve physique only, will give the ego gratification, as supposed Red Pillars/Gamers who do things for our own benefit; shouldn’t we be doing a more well-rounded variety of physical activity? I don’t want anyone thinking I’m bashing lifting, I’m saying by lifting alone you’re kind of just peacocking your body to get attention and almost implying an attractive female has a higher value than you, because if you didn’t have your muscles, you might not feel worthy of her.
What I advocate is a combination, do your lifting and do your cardio or a sport. From personnel experience any type of fighting / martial arts is really character building, but absolutely any team sport will force you to bond with other males, which is what Red Pill ideology / inner game theory would suggest is good for us.
TDLR: lifting alone does not = fitness, does = attractiveness on a purely aesthetic level. Sports, or a combination of cardio and lifting will result in a less pleasing figure to the eyes but a more well-rounded personality, and better health.
