I'd like to get some feedback from married guys on this. This is something I've wondered about for a while, because it happens in marriages.

I've been married for 12 years (no kids yet). I'm 40 and she's in her late 30's. I love my wife. We get along well. I am not a stepford husband. My wife knows that I am alpha in the relationship and has verbally acknowledged this years ago (long before I learned about TRP ideology).

My wife usually adapts to what I want to do/see or where I want to go etc, but recently I have become wary of this. My concern is that 10-20 years down the road, I don't want to be blind-side divorced by an angry woman who has been quietly swallowing her frustration b/c we always did what I wanted to do. I tell her that if something is important to her, she should speak up about it and not just let it go. I've seen people in long term marriages get divorced... not b/c of infidelity or money, but b/c they grew apart or b/c one partner could no longer take being taken for granted.

It's great now to wield RP "magic" now and it feels great to get your way by holding frame, but does it build resentment? Has anyone else thought about the potential long-term effects of TRP behavior and how it might affect their wife years down the road?
