Self Improvement is Masturbation

I know a lot of people wield 'self improvement' as some kind of shield. TRP is hateful misogynists, or whatever nonsense they spew. Self improvement is NOT TRP. Never was, but people do not let it die. It has half truths, which make it hard to kill.

It's correct, that you can only change yourself, so anything you do should focus on that. Changing the world is for naval gazers who prefer not to look in the mirror. The problem comes with improvement.

Improvement implies deficiency. This is not here to give some feelgood 'you are just special the way you are'. This is here because of the person you've allowed to judge the deficiency.

if you're self improving, you're doing it to impress women. With the half truths, the MGTOW guys love opting out of life because they absolutely hate this. Putting pussy on a pedestal, jumping through hoops, seeking validation?

Fuck it. I'd rather have cool hobbies. And completely miss the point, because they are taking the idea of 'women being the judges of improvement' and making the worst conclusion from it. instead of doing something, remove the judge.

Another half truth

In reality, this is about strategy. You are taking means, a means to an end.

You lift for many reasons, none of them are because you're a weak piece of shit who isn't good enough to fuck (even though you are). You want sex, you want to live long enough to have sex, and you don't want to be out of breath half way through sex.

Lifting and eating get you there. means to an end.

You learn game, not because you're a debbie downer, an angry little manlet, or some aspie robot (which you may be). It's because being articulate, witty, and without validation seeking behavior gets you sex more often.

You read the praxeology, not because you're a clueless idiot (which you may be), not because your mom lied to you (she probably did), and not because you just doesn't get women (you probably don't). You do it because you can better navigate something you understand. Praxeology

Mechanics don't become better mechanics by bitching about highway construction techniques, they learn by tinkering on their cars every weekend.

There's two takeaways from this, if you get nothing else:

  1. you are your #1 masculine center of focus. There is no full set of 'improvements' that you're ever going to do to be fully self-improved, especially to women. No one cares, and if they don't want to like you, they will find something.

  1. Your ego is not your fucking friend, in fact, he hates you. Self improvement is ultimately a validation seeking behavior. You improve to win over someone who did not value you at your present. It starts off the whole thing with a giant covert contract.

Fuck that.

If you don't have your life 100% together, you're skipping steps by looking for belonging, or self actualization. Means to an end. You can't sleep, go to a cancer meeting and learn how to sleep. You don't feel, blow up your condo and get into a fight. You find the fighting to be hollow, fuck it, maybe now you can go and save the world

Language reflects thought. Stop looking to be 'children with dynamite' and start looking to achieving shit in your life that makes you happy.

  • At first, it's getting your dick wet.
  • soon, it's getting your life on track
  • Finally, it's those high and mighty projects that everyone waxes on about. Building a family, changing politics, building male social matrix in your area. None of this matters if you don't have the foundation.

Normally, I stick to concrete, simple action. In this case, it's about making sure that first brick you lay isn't made of bullshit.

This short sentence cuts to the core of what the film is trying to tell you in a clear and concise manner. The idea that self-improvement, the model of aspirational behavior in Western society since Kurt Goldstein’s theory of self-actualization was published in 1934, and the point of life itself to many, is nothing more than a base and pointless act of self-gratification was completely unprecedented and highly controversial; the unvoiced suggestion that the real answer lies in its polar opposite even more so. But it is a central theme throughout the film and is echoed in the suggestions that the things you own end up owning you, that only after disaster can we be resurrected and that it’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.
