We encounter handshakes all the time. Seeing our friends, meeting new people and entering interviews. The number of encounters are endless, all of which revolve around social interactions and that's why it's absolutely crucial to get it right. A handshake is symbolic, it's a brief moment for you to get a sense of him and for him to get a sense of you. A handshake can make or break the start of a relationship or a friendship. When you receive a handshake you want to feel that you're in good hands, that you can trust him.

It's quite unbelievable how a firm handshake and solid eye contact can take you miles far. When you shake a fish you feel that this man is unstable, indecisive, and cannot be trusted. In addition, this man doesn't have the warmth nor the strength to maintain a meaningful relationship. On the other hand, when you get a proper firm handshake, you give in. You know you can befriend a man such as this and you can trust him. Now, of course a handshake might be of no indication to what type of person a man is, but that doesn't matter, you need to take advantage of this, you need to get it right.

Beyond

Carry yourself, don't allow your body to carry you. Don't twiddle and shift about. Don't touch your face and scrape your head. Don't rest on your palms and don't dart your eyes from place to place. You need to move through life fluidly, surely and confidently. You're no longer a child, bouncing around is no longer adorable and the emotions you enact aren't cute.

A man such as yourself doesn't have "um" and "ugh" as a part of his lexicon. He never "I dunno"s and waits for someone else to make the decisions for him. You don't run, you walk at a calm pace because you know that where you're going will wait for you, and not the other way around.

When you're in a group of friends and the question comes up: "Where do you guys wanna go", all their eyes dart to you. You will make the decision because they know that's what you do. Make decisions.

Take yourself seriously, and others will do just the same.
