It should be clear that without a doubt one of the clearest red/blue indicators is how often a man apologizes and for what.

Let's break down what apology means.

As a defense it means an excuse or justification, if it's not a defense then it's either a full blown acknowledgment of wrong doing or means a poor substitute.

That was easy, so the sorry man can be considered a shell of a man, a sponge for doing nothing correctly. The person who makes excuses rather then decisions.

The fact is whatever the situation is, if you apologize for it then you are assuming all negative attributes, you did something wrong. In law an apology can be considered evidence of guilt or testimony.

Now there are situations when it's ok to be sorry. If you need to man up to something like fucking up at work, then being sorry means you acknowledge a deficit and this acknowledgement is the minimum needed to improve a flaw. But if you're in a LTR or married then the rules are different.

Anything you apologize for becomes ammo against you, whatever you apologize for decreases any value she saw in you, automatically gives her a certain power over you. Saying sorry for something is close to giving her power over you on that issue. In fact apologizing pretty much is our way of transferring responsibility over a situation.

Instead you should own it, use it.

If you're married and shit isn't good making you feel like cheating on her; and she finds out, you can do one of two things. You can say something along the lines of "I know what I did but I'm not sorry, I'm in a situation where I don't feel committed anymore".

Anything less then that basically makes you sorry. If you ignore it you're a pussy who can't face the situation, if you say sorry then you acknowledge it and it can be used against you, if you admit it's wrong but give an excuse then you're just making excuses for something you admit you shouldn't of done and you're just weak. But if you're not sorry there's nothing she can do but either learn from it or leave.

Either he is sorry and is a pathetic loser for failing to keep it in his pants, or he isn't sorry and she did something that lowered his opinion of her so much that being faithful wasn't important enough anymore. Fact is if you own it she'll never bring it up again in the future. Bringing it up in the future turns "you hurt me like this and now I'm going to remind you how much of a bitch you are" into "I wasn't worth enough in your mind to keep you monogamous.

If she's going to leave because of cheating, she's gonna do it regardless. Owning it means either she stays and changes something on her end or she leaves knowing that although you are the one who cheated, you also didn't turn into a sorry sack of shit a about it either.

Being sorry also allows her to milk it for all it's worth regardless.

That's a big example but honestly when dealing with adults you should own everything down to the various small infractions. You should be sorry if you accidentally bump into somebody and they drop their work all over the street or accidentally close a door on somebody's face, owning something like that just makes you an asshole, so the line is low but still subjective.

In the end it comes down to being true to yourself. Most people don't accidentally cheat on their wives, so if you did it on purpose then apologizing is literally regretting yourself, apologizing for a true mistake you did not anticipate means you're regretting a flaw you want to prevent.
