Holy shit. I just realized how long it's been since I've seen a woman's actual face. Nobody looks like the "befores" IRL. I even feel sorry for some of them, because you basically don't have a choice - maybe you don't like makeup or suck at it or whatever, but you are going to be brutally mogged by everyone if you don't get on board.

A few things:

--this is work by professional makeup artists and hairstylists. Most women can't get their makeup/hair to look anything like this good.

--they've chosen women with "good foundations" -- big expressive eyes, good symmetrical facial structure, good cheekbones, defined full lips. These women have a lot to work with and are at least OK, decent specimens.

--this kind of work, and the cosmetics used to produce it, are very expensive - thousands of dollars worth.

--this kind of work is very time consuming. It takes a lot of time to "put this face on" - more time than most women spend or are willing to spend. It's deceiving to go from before/after shots. Consider at least an hour was spent on the hair/makeup to go from before to after. And any woman who does this has to spend that hour before going out, every day. Every day. Most women don't do it. They don't have the time or the money.

--this is a big reason why actresses look as good as they do.

--most pornstars use this kind of makeup in porn. This is the "pornstar face" - heavy base, heavy blemish cover, smoky eyeshadow, heavy liner, fake eyelashes.

-- you can see it adds at least 3 points to most of these women's SMVs.

--a lot of women could benefit from spending the money on a consult with a professional makeup artist.

--I'm disturbed that the first couple of "women" are actually kids. That first girl has braces and can't be more than 13 years old. And look at how tarted up she looked.

Many guys are missing the point of the "how men rate women versus how women rate men" stats. Yeah, most women want to fuck the top 5% of guys whereas most guys will fuck anything with a vagina, but that does not mean most men are unattractive or that women are more attractive than men.

What those graphs from OKCupid etc mean is that men and women have different attraction floors. Men’s attraction floor is below their own SMV. Women’s attraction floor is sometimes at her own SMV, but never beneath it, and she prefers a man well above it.

In almost every instance, they change from non-smiling, sexless, introverted, even depressive facial expressions, to a confident, sexy, smiling positive demeanor.

Over half of the change is mental to physical change. One exception, the girl with crappy teeth, looked better when she didn't smile. More than anything, I think the pictures prove that you can be more attractive because of attitude.

Of course youth and a great paint job always help.
