Please tell me if I'm off about this, or being too picky.

My father was abusive to my mother. Safe to say my father is a narcissist thanks to a pretty screwed up childhood. I feel like he's trying to mend our relationship (coincidentally as I've become successful), so I'm willing to attempt reconciliation. He's currently visiting me, and I find myself becoming increasingly frustrated with his indulgent and lazy behavior.

He's retired follows the same mind-numbing pattern EVERY. DAMN. DAY. Wake up 10-12 PM, take a 2 hour bath, maybe take a walk and watch youtube videos all day. He has no hobbies. He has no friends. He can't hold an interesting conversation. To be fair, he cooks dinner for us most nights, but he can't be bothered to better himself by say, learning a language, playing an instrument or reading a book. I've come to think he's only visiting because he's bored with COVID and has nothing else to do, because he adds minimal value to my life.

He retired early, not because he's wealthy, but because he didn't want to keep working; while he was working, he never strived for a promotion or for other ways to apply his training. By comparison, my mother is a rockstar and inspired me to become driven and ambitious. I work 16+ hours per day in a competitive career.

While he has been visiting, my (maternal) uncle passed away. My father has not bothered to buy me flowers or discuss it, even though I deliberately point out how my friends are bringing me flowers. I'm getting increasingly annoyed, and I think he's starting to notice. Help??
