2 and a half years ago I had my first relationship.
He was my first everything. He was emotionally abusive and pressured me into sex and caused me physical and emotional pain. But I was truly head over heels in love with him and dependent on him.
So when he just abandoned me and told me that he would ignore me if I ever tried to talk to him in public - it really broke me.
Now it’s been some time and I’ve had some therapy and I see now what the red flags were and that I’m not a worthless, ugly, crazy girl and that he was the one that was causing all the hurt. I’m proud of how far I’ve come. ❣️
However, I was looking back on some texts with my best friend and we used to joke about sex and love and affection.
Now we don’t do that, and I wouldnt enjoy it if we did, because it would just be her talking about it sweetly and me feeling sad and bitter or having a cynical view on it.
She’s been with the same guy for years so she hasn’t experienced heartbreak like this.
I feel like I can’t relate to her when she talks about “the one” and how she was cuddling while listening to a love song and how amazing he is.
All I think about is how guys will treat you like a goddess and then like garbage the next.
I feel like the experience has made me bitter but I don’t know what to do about it.
