I was headed out on a business trip and left handwritten instructions wrapped around a vibrator for her to find during the day. Instructions were to 1. stop everything 2. vibe for 10 seconds 3. text me the first word that came to mind.

Results: as fate would have it, she didn't find the note. The next morning I inquired and after 1 hint she found it.

waiting patiently .... no response .... an hour later i sent an eye roll text.

her response was "found your note, love you tons, but no opportunity."

I responded by ... not responding - like nothing ever happened. A year ago there would have been much puke inserted here.

Then this shit happens. Two weeks later, after not a single word about the note, she wakes up and says i was thinking about your note. I was on my way out the door, so grabbed her ass and gave her a kiss and said "cool". Later that day, she sends me a text that she is thinking about me. In a moment of weakness, i inquired about her thoughts on the note. "I felt bad i didn't respond". my response was "well...10 seconds is a huge investment" with a smirk.

A few questions:

  • are notes/games like this a good idea? My current thinking is these are "rewards" for sex. They are positive affirmation that I am a happy man and happy men make their wives feel loved/thought about/etc.
  • would you have handled this any differently?
